Take aim and let loose in the heart of the New Forest with this fun and engaging woodland archery session. Whether it’s your first time or you’ve had some practice, you’ll get expert coaching in a peaceful outdoor setting designed to make the experience enjoyable and hands-on from the start.
Over two hours, you'll get stuck into archery with plenty of time to shoot, learn and improve. There's no waiting around or rotating in big groups—everyone is active throughout the session, working with their own bow and target. Beginners receive clear, supportive coaching to help build confidence, while those with experience can focus on improving technique and precision. With a mix of games, mini competitions and coaching tips, the session is built to be both fun and rewarding.
All of this takes place in a quiet woodland spot just outside Fordingbridge. The ranges are purpose-built but still feel part of the forest, offering a relaxed and scenic environment where you can focus without pressure. It’s ideal for individuals, families or small groups, and younger archers aged 6–12 can take part alongside older participants doing axe throwing and crossbow nearby. You’ll all stay in close proximity, making this a great option for family-friendly fun.
The session runs just outside Fordingbridge, within the New Forest National Park. Set in a tucked-away woodland clearing, the archery range blends naturally into the surroundings and offers a peaceful, sheltered spot to enjoy the activity. The exact location is shared after booking, and we recommend using the Google Maps link in your confirmation email rather than relying on the postcode, which can be inaccurate in rural areas.
The site is easily reached from nearby towns including Salisbury and Ringwood. Parking is free and it’s just a short walk from the car park to the range—around three minutes. The woodland track includes a short gravel incline, so if anyone in your group has mobility concerns, feel free to get in touch before your visit and we’ll do our best to assist.
No previous archery experience is needed. The session is suitable for all ability levels, and the coaching is adjusted to match your experience and confidence. Everyone will get personalised instruction and time to develop at their own pace. Children under 18 must have at least one participating adult with them, and for under 18 bookings, a minimum of two places must be booked.
Dress for the weather with outdoor clothes and closed-toe footwear. Trainers are fine, and it's a good idea to bring layers, waterproofs, suncream or a hat depending on the forecast. Snacks, soft drinks and any personal medication should also be packed if needed. Make sure to arrive 15 minutes before your session time so you're ready to start on time.
The centre offers a refreshing alternative to large-scale activity venues. Sessions are run by a small team of qualified instructors who genuinely care about making your experience both fun and worthwhile. The woodland setting is quiet and welcoming, and the coaching is tailored to each person, whether you're six or sixty, new to archery or returning to it.
All equipment is high quality and well maintained, and the small group sizes mean more shooting time, less standing around, and better support from your instructor. The emphasis is always on building confidence, learning a new skill and enjoying the great outdoors. With a relaxed approach, great value and a truly unique setting, it’s a brilliant way to enjoy time together and do something different.
