Wing foiling is an exciting and fast-growing watersport that combines the skills of windsurfing and foiling, providing a thrilling experience of flying over the water. Our Wingsurf Foil Taster Session at Hove Lagoon is the perfect introduction for complete beginners, giving you a safe and structured way to learn the basics of wing control and board handling. While the learning curve can be steep, our RYA-certified instructors ensure you progress safely and effectively.
The Wingsurf Foil Taster Session is divided into two parts, both crucial for building a solid foundation in wing foiling:
You’ll start by learning to control the wing on land, focusing on harnessing the power of the wind and converting it into forward motion. This will give you a feel for how the wing behaves and how to use it to steer.
Once you’ve grasped the basics of wing control, you’ll head onto the water to practise balance and movement on the board. You’ll learn to sail kneeling, perform basic gybes, and initiate self-rescue techniques. The ultimate goal is to get you standing up on the board and travelling across the wind.
At Hove Lagoon, we pride ourselves on providing a supportive and safe environment for learning watersports. With shallow, sheltered waters, our lagoon is the ideal setting for beginners to practise their skills without the pressure of deep or open water. Our RYA-certified instructors are passionate and experienced, ensuring you receive top-quality coaching in small groups. We also offer excellent on-site facilities, including a café and changing rooms, making your experience comfortable and enjoyable.
In addition, Hove Lagoon’s proximity to the sea means that when you're ready, we can transition your learning onto open water, allowing you to experience more advanced wing foiling conditions.
