### Where are you located?

We are located at Hove Lagoon. You will be sent the full address and postcode upon booking, but here is a guide to finding us: By Car: We do not have our own car park. There is parking within 150m of Hove Lagoon on Wharf Road opposite Hove Lagoon or there is metered parking on the southside of the A259 Kingsway. There is free parking in the residential area to the north of the A259 Kingsway. There are some resident parking restrictions at certain times of the day on these roads. Please check restrictions when parking. By Bike: We have a cycle parking area, don't forget your lock! By Bus: Brighton and Hove Bus Company : Route 1, 1A, 6. This service travels along Church Road which is about 3 mins walk to the north of the seafront. Get off at the Wish Road or Brittany Court stops. This service runs from Brighton Station. If you arrive at Hove Station you need to walk directly south to Church Road where you can meet this service. Coastliner 700 service. Stage Coach. By Train: We recommend travelling to Portslade station (1 mile from us ) or Hove station (2 miles from us) Brighton station is 3 miles from us. By Coach : National Express run many routes to Brighton. Brighton coach station in near the pier which is about 3 miles from us.

What to bring: Swimwear: To wear under the wetsuit and buoyancy aid which are provided. Towel: We have hot showers so you will need a towel to dry yourself off at the end of your session. Bag: To put your wet things in. Other stuff: Suitable clothing for the weather on the day. Sunscreen, layers in case the wind gets up, anorak or waterproof jacket. What not to bring: Valuables. We have free lockers in the changing rooms but better safe than sorry.

The taster session is designed for complete beginners aged 14+ who are confident swimmers. No prior experience in wing foiling or windsurfing is necessary.

### What will I learn on the taster session?

You’ll learn the fundamentals of wing control and board handling. This includes: Flying the wing ashore to understand how it catches the wind Sailing kneeling on the board, standing up, and sailing short distances Performing basic gybes (turns) and self-rescue techniques By the end of the session, you'll have the skills to control the wing and balance on the board.

### Do I need to bring my own equipment?

No, all equipment is provided. This includes the wing, board, wetsuit, helmet, impact vest, and buoyancy aid. Just bring your swimwear to wear under the wetsuit and a towel for after the session.

### How many people are in each session?

We keep group sizes small, with a maximum of 6 participants per session. This ensures you receive plenty of personalised instruction and attention from our RYA-certified instructors.

Yes, wing foiling is safe when learned under proper instruction. During the session, you will be taught essential safety measures and how to safely control the wing and board. We operate in most weather conditions, but for safety reasons, we may cancel or reschedule the session if the wind is too strong or too weak. If this happens, we’ll work with you to reschedule your session at no extra cost.

### Where is the session held?

The taster session takes place at Hove Lagoon, a shallow, waist-deep body of seawater near Brighton. This controlled environment is perfect for learning the basics before progressing to the sea in future lessons.

### How clean is the water?

The water quality at Hove Lagoon is regularly tested by Brighton and Hove City Council to ensure it meets all safety standards. While natural algae may occur, it’s harmless and carefully managed. The lagoon is replenished with fresh seawater regularly.
