Underwater photography is an exciting and rapidly growing diving specialty, and the advent of digital photography has made it more accessible and enjoyable than ever before. We are thrilled to offer courses designed to enhance your skills and enable you to capture amazing underwater images that will impress your friends and family.
Module 1 – Introduction to Underwater Photography in Ambient Light
This module begins with a theory session covering the unique challenges of underwater photography and methods to overcome them. Topics include optimal shooting modes, equipment selection, and setup. The pool session focuses on maintaining neutral buoyancy and using ambient light for photography. You'll also experiment with wet lenses to enhance your shots. The module concludes with a complimentary Adobe Lightroom session to review and retouch your images, applying essential colour correction techniques.
Module 2 – Shooting Underwater with Artificial Light
In this module, you'll explore the benefits and limitations of artificial lighting. The session covers the use of strobes and constant light sources, along with their mounting options. Practical exercises will help you understand different strobe positions, including creating classic black background macro shots. The module includes another Adobe Lightroom session, where you will learn to perform local adjustments to remove backscatter and refine your images.
