Whether you're a complete beginner or have some experience on the water, you’ll be guided through an enjoyable and relaxing time, tuning into the peaceful flow of the canal.
Upon arrival, you’ll be welcomed by an experienced instructor who will provide a brief safety introduction before gearing you up with the necessary equipment, including a buoyancy aid. The session starts with a gentle on-land introduction to paddleboarding techniques and safety tips. You’ll learn the basics of paddling, balancing, and manoeuvring on the board, tailored to your level of comfort.
Once you’re confident, it’s time to hit the water. Paddling along the peaceful stretch of Regent’s Canal, you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy the calm surroundings while honing your new skills. Throughout the session, the instructor will be on hand to offer guidance and ensure everyone feels comfortable and safe on the water. Please wear comfortable layers suitable for outdoor activity, avoiding jeans. Since there’s a chance you could get wet, it’s a good idea to bring a change of clothes.
Additionally, please wear footwear that can get wet, such as old trainers or beach shoes, as it's a canal setting.
We provide buoyancy aids, and if the weather is cold or rainy, we'll also supply a waterproof kagoule.
No experience is required! Our sessions are designed for beginners as well as those with some paddleboarding knowledge.
Our instructor will guide you through everything, from basic techniques to how to balance on the board.
Each session accommodates between 3 to 8 participants, allowing for plenty of personalised instruction.
If you’re booking with a group, make sure at least three people sign up to meet the session minimum.
Yes, we have secure storage for your clothes, valuables, and other personal belongings while you’re out on the water.
However, Islington Boat Club & SUP @ Islington can accept no responsibility for any belongings left onsite
We’ll provide waterproof kagoules to keep you dry if it rains.
However, in extreme weather conditions such as strong winds or thunderstorms, the session may be rescheduled for your safety.
