Join this 3.5-hour guided e-bike tour to explore Liverpool’s legendary Beatles landmarks in a way that’s both fun and effortless. Ride the same streets the band once did, visiting their childhood homes, iconic song locations, and key sites that shaped their story. With electric pedal-assist bikes, you’ll cruise through the city and its parks with ease, seeing more than you ever could on foot.
Arrive 10 minutes before departure to get fitted with your e-bike and helmet, followed by a short safety briefing. Once everyone’s ready, the ride begins through central Liverpool before heading out to visit some of the most famous sites in music history. Stops include Penny Lane, Strawberry Field, and the childhood homes of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, and Ringo Starr. Each location comes to life through stories and anecdotes shared by your guide, giving you a vivid sense of how these ordinary neighbourhoods helped shape extraordinary music.
Along the way, the route winds through several of Liverpool’s green parks — peaceful, traffic-free spaces that are inaccessible to buses or coaches. You’ll visit St Peter’s Church Hall, where John and Paul first met, as well as the art school where Lennon and Stuart Sutcliffe became friends. The tour also passes Eleanor Rigby’s grave and the Palm House in Sefton Park, both important cultural landmarks.
Throughout the tour, you’ll cycle at an easy, steady pace, supported by the electric assist so you can focus on soaking up the atmosphere rather than the effort. By the time you return to the docks, you’ll have experienced the city’s musical roots and seen a side of Liverpool that few visitors get to enjoy.
Starting near the historic docks, the tour follows a carefully planned route that connects the heart of the city with the leafy suburbs where The Beatles’ story began. This part of Liverpool is rich in both cultural and architectural heritage, with elegant Victorian homes, public parks, and local landmarks that inspired some of the band’s most iconic lyrics. It’s an area full of nostalgia, yet still buzzing with everyday life.
As you ride through quieter roads and traffic-free cycle paths, you’ll get a real feel for the local neighbourhoods that shaped the band’s personalities and music. The e-bike makes it easy to cover longer distances comfortably, allowing you to see much more than you could on foot while still feeling connected to the history and rhythm of the city.
Riders must be at least 14 years old to legally ride an electric pedal-assisted bike in the UK. Children aged 11–13 can join the tour but will be provided with a standard non-electric bike instead. Participants should be confident cycling independently, though no advanced fitness or cycling ability is required — the e-bikes do most of the work for you.
Before setting off, everyone receives a full demonstration on how the e-bikes operate, including how to adjust speed settings and use the motor assist efficiently. It’s recommended to wear comfortable clothing and closed shoes, and to bring a small water bottle. Helmets and high-visibility vests are provided, and tours run in most weather conditions.
Since 2011, this team has been introducing visitors to Liverpool through the freedom of cycling, blending local expertise with a love for storytelling. The move to electric pedal-assist bikes revolutionised their tours, making them suitable for everyone — from lifelong fans of The Beatles to casual sightseers who simply want a relaxed and engaging way to see the city. Their top-quality Raleigh Motus e-bikes with Bosch systems guarantee a smooth, enjoyable ride that’s perfect for covering Liverpool’s hilly terrain.
After over a decade of guiding guests, the team has earned a consistent Number One ranking on TripAdvisor and multiple Traveller’s Choice Awards. Each route has been refined to include the most meaningful and scenic stops, with guides who know every backstreet and anecdote. Whether you’re a lifelong Beatles fan or discovering their music for the first time, this tour offers an authentic, personal experience that captures the spirit of Liverpool’s musical legacy.
The tours are run using electric pedal-assisted bicycles, often referred to as e-bikes. These bikes don’t have a throttle, as throttle-controlled electric bikes are not legal for public use in the UK. Instead, the motor provides assistance only while you’re pedalling, giving you a boost when needed but still keeping the experience active and engaging. The bikes are EU certified and designed for smooth, reliable performance.
Each e-bike provides assistance up to 15.5mph (around 25km/h), after which the motor automatically cuts out. Most tours average a comfortable speed of about 12mph (19km/h), meaning the electric assistance remains available throughout most of the ride. This speed allows you to keep pace easily with the group, take in your surroundings, and enjoy the ride without worrying about overexerting yourself — ideal for both regular cyclists and those new to e-bikes.
The e-bike tours offer a fun and comfortable way to see the best of Liverpool, from the city’s iconic football stadiums to famous Beatles landmarks. Using electric pedal-assisted bikes means that even with the city’s rolling hills, everyone can ride together at an enjoyable pace without feeling worn out. The assistance doesn’t make the ride effortless — it simply makes it more manageable, ensuring riders of all fitness levels can keep up and focus on enjoying the sights and stories shared along the way.
Tours move at a relaxed but steady pace to keep the group close together, particularly at junctions and crossings. Guides pay close attention to ensure no one is left behind, and the group always regathers before moving on. The aim is for the experience to feel social and connected — like a shared adventure through the city rather than a long trail of individual riders.
Not at all — while Beatles fans will love the historical stops and personal stories, this tour also offers a fantastic way to explore Liverpool’s architecture, parks, and neighbourhoods. You’ll see how the band’s music was inspired by real places that are still full of character today, making the experience enjoyable for anyone interested in history, culture, or local life.
Even if you only know a few of the band’s biggest hits, the stories shared by your guide will bring their journey to life in a way that’s both entertaining and insightful. It’s an engaging mix of sightseeing and storytelling that appeals to all interests.
The 3.5-hour tour is designed to be comfortable for most riders, thanks to the e-bikes’ motor assist. While the route does include a few hills and longer stretches, the electric support makes it easy to maintain a steady pace without overexertion. Riders often comment on how effortless it feels compared to a traditional bike ride.
There are regular stops for photos, commentary, and breaks, so you’ll never feel rushed. The pace is relaxed and sociable, allowing everyone to enjoy the experience while staying together as a group.
Yes. UK law allows only riders aged 14 and over to use an electric pedal-assisted bicycle. For families with younger participants aged 11–13, standard non-electric bikes can be provided so they can still join the group. All riders should be at least 1.4 metres tall to safely operate the e-bikes.
Helmets are provided for all participants, and the guide ensures every rider is comfortable and confident before setting off. The focus is always on safety, so the pace and route can be adjusted if needed to accommodate the group.
Unlike coach or walking tours, this e-bike experience lets you explore beyond the usual tourist stops. You’ll travel through leafy parks, quiet residential streets, and local areas that coaches can’t reach. The route offers a blend of famous landmarks and hidden gems, giving you a more personal connection to the city and its musical story.
The combination of storytelling, freedom of movement, and electric assistance makes it an unforgettable experience. It’s not just about seeing the sites — it’s about feeling what Liverpool was like when four young musicians were finding their rhythm in the place they called home.
