Prerequisites

You don’t need any prior paddleboarding experience. All sessions are run by qualified instructors who will adapt the activities to suit mixed abilities.

You should feel confident around water and be able to swim a short distance if needed. All equipment is provided, including buoyancy aids and wetsuits.

Do we need any previous paddleboarding experience?

Not at all. Our sessions are designed to suit all confidence levels, from complete beginners to seasoned paddleboarders. We’ll guide you through everything at a relaxed pace, starting with a full safety briefing and intro to paddleboarding basics.

You’ll have time to get comfortable on the water before any optional games or challenges begin.

What should we wear and bring with us?

We recommend wearing a swimsuit or quick-dry activewear, along with something warm and dry to change into after the session.

Footwear that can get wet (like water shoes or old trainers) is a good idea, although barefoot is also fine once you're on the board. Bring a towel, water bottle, sun cream, and any personal medications. All paddleboarding equipment will be provided by us.

Can we choose between a chilled-out session and a more energetic one?

Absolutely. These sessions are fully tailored to your group’s preference. If you’re after a relaxed paddle and maybe some gentle yoga, we’ll create a calm session with plenty of time to float and chat.

If your group is more energetic and up for a laugh, we can pack the session with games, races, and splashy challenges. Let us know what you’d prefer when booking.

How long is the session, and can it be extended?

Sessions typically last around 90 minutes on the water, plus time to get changed and ready either side.

If you'd like something longer—maybe to include both games and yoga, or to have time for a post-paddle picnic—let us know in advance and we’ll do our best to accommodate extended sessions.

What happens if the weather is bad on the day?

We monitor the weather closely and aim to run sessions in all conditions except when safety could be compromised (e.g. lightning or very high winds).

Light rain or cooler temperatures won’t stop the fun, and we’ll provide wetsuits if needed. If we do need to cancel or postpone due to unsafe weather, we’ll work with you to rearrange for a new date.

Are your instructors qualified and insured?

Yes. All our instructors are fully qualified under the Academy of Surf Instructors (ASI) framework, with additional certifications in SUP yoga, open-water swimming, and first aid.

We also hold comprehensive public liability insurance. Your safety and enjoyment are our top priorities.
