Three group lessons sit across the summer rather than on three fixed days in a row. Each session is about 2.5 hours at the National Surf Centre, with a brief on the sand then time in Strandhill's beach break. You pick the first date when you book; we agree the other two around tide and your plans. Boards, wetsuits and boots are included each time.
The first lesson follows the same shape as a single group booking: kit up, a brief, then water time. The second and third sessions start from what you could already do, so you are not repeating a first-stand script if you stood up last time. Adults and children from seven can use this package; we put you in the adult or under-16 group that fits the age.
Please arrive 15 minutes early for each session. Hot showers sit in the centre. The exact start can move with tide and swell. Anyone under 16 needs an adult on the beach. If a date does not work, we move that session rather than the whole package.
Every session meets at the National Surf Centre on Shore Road, Strandhill, F91 XH50. The walk to the sand is short. Parking is nearby, and cafes sit a short walk away.
Strandhill is a short drive from Sligo town. The sandy break is the same beach used for single lessons, so you get to know one peak across the three bookings.
No surfing experience is needed. You should be happy in the sea. Children from seven can join. Anyone under 16 needs an adult on the beach for every session.
Bring swimwear, a towel and a warm layer each time. Your own full-length wetsuit is fine. Tell us ages when you book so we put you in the right group.
Three sessions on the same beach give the coach something to build on. Instructors hold Irish Surfing Association, Water Safety Ireland and child protection awards, and they are Garda vetted. Zuhe has taught here for more than 16 years.
The centre is on the sand, with hot showers after each lesson. If you want a full week in July or August, look at the adult camp or the youth camp instead.
Meet at the National Surf Centre, Shore Road, Strandhill, Co. Sligo, F91 XH50 for every session. Park near the centre and walk to the beachfront building.
Please arrive 15 minutes early. We confirm each start time once the tide is clear.
You pick a preferred time for the first lesson when you book. We confirm that start once the tide is clear, then you agree the other two sessions with us. They can sit on consecutive days or spread through the summer.
If a later date does not work because of weather or your plans, we move that session rather than the whole package. Keep an eye on messages before each date.
About two and a half hours from arrival to leaving, including changing, a brief on the sand and time in the water. Most of that window is spent catching waves.
Arrive 15 minutes early each time so changing does not eat into the water time. The exact start can move with the tide.
Seven. Children under 16 need an adult on the beach for every session. Anyone 16 or over joins the adult group on the same package.
Tell us ages when you book so we put each person in the right group. A family can share the package even if they are not in the water at the same time.
No. The first session is built for first-timers. The second and third start from what you could already do, so you are not repeating a first-stand script if you stood up last time.
If you already surf, say so at the first brief. The coach can spend more time on where to sit and less time on the pop-up.
The National Surf Centre on Shore Road, Strandhill, F91 XH50, for every session. Changing rooms, hot showers and toilets are in the building, a short walk from the sand.
Parking is nearby. If a start time has to move with the tide, we send the new time. Check your messages the evening before each lesson.
A surfboard, a wetsuit and boots for each of the three sessions. We match the board to your size and how the beach is working that day.
Your own full-length wetsuit is fine. Leave phones and bags in the changing room or the car. Give the coach any medication you need in the water.
Rain does not stop a lesson. We cancel or move a session when the swell or wind makes the beach unsafe. That date is rearranged rather than lost.
If we have to cancel, we find another slot. Message us the day before if you are travelling a long way, so you are not on the road before the plan is confirmed.
Swimwear, a towel, a warm dry layer and sunscreen for every session. A water bottle helps. Get changed into swimwear before you arrive if you want to skip the queue.
Flip-flops are useful for the walk from the car. Leave valuables in the car. Pack a bag for wet swimwear afterwards.
No. This package is three group lessons you can spread through the summer. The adult and youth camps run Monday to Friday in July and August as a set week.
If you want five days in a row, book the camp instead. If you want fewer sessions and more flexibility, this package is the better fit.
English is the main language. We can also run a session in Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, French or German when a coach who speaks that language is on the beach.
Ask when you book rather than on the morning of the first lesson. We will say if that language is available on your dates, or offer dates when it is.
