This full-day paddle at Meadfoot Beach is tailored for adults who want a peaceful day on the water with time to focus on breathing, rhythm, and connection with the Geopark coastline at a gentle pace.
Your guide sets a calm rhythm so you can take in scenery and marine wildlife without rushing. Sessions draw on the same coastal knowledge we use on our training courses, adapted for a reflective day rather than a technical syllabus.
We begin with a friendly chat to confirm the plan, consider a weather window that suits your dates, and share an outline of the day. More detail is available on request before you arrive.
Meadfoot Beach provides sheltered launch and return on the English Riviera, with access to quiet bays and headlands when conditions allow.
You paddle within areas of special scientific interest and secluded spots along one of the most scenic stretches of the South Devon coast.
No prior kayaking experience is necessary, though a basic level of fitness helps for a full day on the water. Participants should be comfortable in an outdoor coastal environment for several hours.
Tell us about any health considerations when you request a date so we can plan pacing and breaks on the water and ashore.
Professional guidance, kayaking equipment, and safety gear are included so you can focus on the paddle and the setting rather than organising kit.
Coaches know Meadfoot and the wider bay, and they adapt the route to the group on the day while keeping the session unhurried.
We recommend bringing beach clothes, wet shoes, water, snacks, lunch, suncream, sunhat, sunglasses, and swimming gear.
No prior kayaking experience is necessary. The day is designed for guests who want a calm, guided paddle rather than a technical course, and your guide provides full instruction on the beach before you launch.
If you have paddled before, the pace stays relaxed with time to notice the coast rather than push distance.
Bring beach clothes, wet shoes, water, snacks, lunch, sun cream, sunhat, sunglasses, and swimming gear if you want to swim. Pack any personal medication you need for a full day outdoors.
We provide boats, paddles, buoyancy aids, and safety equipment; transport to Meadfoot is not included.
Guides run a thorough safety briefing before launch and issue life jackets and appropriate kit for the forecast. We monitor weather and adjust the route if conditions change during the day.
Small group sizes help the guide stay aware of each paddler and keep the day manageable for mixed abilities.
Sessions run with four to twelve participants so the guide can maintain a calm pace and give attention to each paddler.
If your party is outside that range, tell us when you request a date and we will advise whether we can accommodate or suggest another format.
This is a full-day format with breaks for lunch and rest, not a continuous non-stop paddle. Exact time afloat depends on conditions and how the group feels on the day.
Your guide balances mileage with the reflective nature of the session rather than treating it as a distance challenge.
We meet at Meadfoot Beach, Torquay, unless we message you with a nearby alternative launch that is safer for the forecast on your date.
Arrival instructions are confirmed when we approve your request, including where to park and how to find the group on the beach.
Food and drinks are not included. Bring a packed lunch and plenty of water so you stay comfortable through the day.
We plan natural breaks on shore or on the water where you can eat and rest before continuing at an easy pace.
We reschedule or adjust the plan if wind, swell, or visibility makes a full day unsuitable. Your safety and a worthwhile experience guide that decision.
We contact you ahead of time when possible if the forecast suggests a change of venue or timing.
Yes. The session is deliberately calm, and guides can pair with guests or shorten routes to stay in sheltered water if confidence is low at first.
Share any concerns when you request a date so we can plan craft choice and pairings before you arrive at Meadfoot.
The focus is on mindful pacing, breathing, and time on the water rather than distance or skills testing. You still receive full safety briefing and coaching support, but the day is structured for reflection.
Guests who want intensive skills training may prefer our structured courses; this day suits those seeking a slower coastal experience.

Absolutely brilliant experience, would highly recommend to everyone!
Kieran was an organised, pleasant, knowledgeable and interesting tour guide. Also clearly, a very good kayaka. The only critique would be the size of the group. It was just too long to get everyone geared up and at the cave for all kayaks to go into and out. Otherwise a…
Great, good local knowledge, friendly instructor. Lots of wildlife and little adventures had. Recommend.
Amazing experience, would highly recommend to anyone!
Jose was very friendly and helpful! The bikes he provided were great for the price, and we enjoyed a unique gravel bike adventure in Spain. There were very few other companies offering gravel bike rentals. I would 100% recommend this adventure with Jose to any travelers in Spain looking to…
It was really enjoyable. I had never done kayaking before but after some short, simple clear instruction I was confidently making it way along the coastline. It was great to see things from the water you would've otherwise have been able to get a view of. I would definitely do…
Excellent day out with super efficient Kieran and Sam. Even a novice like me finally cracked the code to a good kayaking. The caves, guided tour on geological formations punctuated by marshmallow roasting and fossil hunting truly enhanced the overall experience. Would love to do it again. Plus - a…
