If you own your own boat and want to know how to get the best from it, you may be ready to take on a Touring Sea Kayak. Our Intermediate Sea Kayaking 1 Day Course offers a comprehensive approach to enhancing your skills in solo paddling and incident management.
Participants can expect to develop proficiency in paddling in conditions up to force 3-4. You'll master essential techniques such as self-rescues in deep water, rock landings, and towing a casualty. Additionally, you'll learn to read the water and navigate estuaries and islands, understanding the interplay between wind and tide.
Our instructors will provide insight into incident management, equipping you with the skills to handle unexpected scenarios and seek assistance if necessary. By the course's end, you'll have the confidence to competently plan trips and deal with potential challenges, armed with coping strategies for a safe and enjoyable kayaking experience.
Set against the picturesque backdrop of the Teign Estuary, our course provides the perfect setting for intermediate sea kayaking training.
Participants should have completed an improver course and possess their own kayak. Prior experience in paddling in wind conditions (force 3-4) and familiarity with self-rescue techniques are essential.
