Absolutely brilliant experience, would highly recommend to everyone!
We partner with Rewilding Britain to help protect our natural spaces for future adventures.
All centres are vetted for safety and quality. Your adventure is in good hands with adventuro.
A combined two-day block starts on sheltered water with launching, a forward stroke, edging and basic rescue thinking, then moves into skeg use, trim and a coastal journey for adults who want both steps in one outing. Distances sit around 12 to 16 km across the two days, with coaching stops rather than a race. Solo touring kayaks are used on the more committing legs, so the course is 18 and over.
Day one is land and sea work on sheltered water: how to set the boat up, a clean launch, forwards paddling, a turn and a first look at rescue. Day two adds improvers coaching, skeg and trim, then a journey leg on estuary or headland water when the forecast allows.
Venues may include Oddicombe, Meadfoot, Paignton backwaters, Brixham and Berry Head. Both days finish so you can go home overnight. We send each morning's pin before you travel. Pack snacks, water and layers to wear under dry kit.
Oddicombe is a common first morning when the bay is kind: sand launch, Blue Flag water, and south-westerly wind blocked by the cliffs. That gives a calmer start before a move to more open water on day two.
If the syllabus or the wind needs Meadfoot, Paignton or Brixham, the pin comes before you travel. Parking notes sit with that message. Changing rooms and lockers are at Oddicombe when we operate from there.
Eighteen and over. First-timers can start on day one. Day two assumes you have those first habits, either from the day before or from time already on the water. Solo touring kayaks are used on the more committing legs.
Tell us your paddling background when you request dates so we can plan pairings. Bring snacks, water and gym or walking layers. Both days finish so you can go home overnight.
The two days are written as one block, so you do not have to wait weeks between a first launch and a first journey. Groups stay at six, which keeps time for feedback on boat fit and how you edge.
Kit is issued each morning, including technical layers when the air is cool. Coaches here work these coasts through the year, so the drills match real Torbay water rather than a pool script.
We confirm the launch for each morning when we approve your dates. That is often Oddicombe Beach, Beach Road, Torquay, TQ1 3LB, or Meadfoot, Paignton or Brixham if that water suits the day.
Parking notes come with the pin. Check your messages the evening before each morning so you are not driving to the wrong slip.
First-timers can start on day one. Day two adds improvers work once those first habits are in place, either from the day before or from time you already have on the water.
Tell us your background when you request dates so we can plan pairings and how fast to move into the journey leg.

Eighteen. Solo touring kayaks are used on the more committing legs, so the block is written for adults rather than mixed family groups.
Share any health notes when you request dates so coaches can plan pacing and venue choice for both mornings.
The pin for each morning comes with your confirmation. Oddicombe is common when the bay is kind. Meadfoot, Paignton or Brixham may be used instead.
Check messages the evening before each day. The launch can move if the forecast shifts.
About 12 to 16 km across the two days, split between drills and a journey leg rather than one long crossing.
Exact distance follows the group and the wind. Coaching stops matter more than chasing miles, so the pace can stay useful for first-timers on day one.
Between two and six. One-to-one, two-to-one, four-to-one and six-to-one options are shown when you request dates.
Tell us your headcount in advance. Extra people cannot join on the sand without warning.
A sea kayak, paddle, buoyancy aid and technical clothing when the weather turns. Everything is fitted on the sand before you launch.
Bring snacks, water and layers to wear underneath. Leave phones in the car unless you have a case you are happy to get wet.
Snacks, drinking water, gym or walking layers, old or wet shoes, a towel, sun cream and a hat. Pack enough for two mornings on different slips.
Transport to each morning's launch is not included. Pack a bag for wet kit at the end of each day.
Yes, if the craft suits the planned water. Tell us when you request dates so we can confirm loading.
Many people train in our fleet for the intro day, then use their own boat on day two. Either way, say so before you travel.
We swap launch sites or keep day two on more sheltered water if wind or swell makes a headland unsafe. Rain alone does not stop the course.
We contact you as early as we can if a morning pin has to change. Safety on the journey leg guides that call.

Absolutely brilliant experience, would highly recommend to everyone!
Kieran was an organised, pleasant, knowledgeable and interesting tour guide. Also clearly, a very good kayaka. The only critique would be the size of the group. It was just too long to get everyone geared up and at the cave for all kayaks to go into and out. Otherwise a…
Great, good local knowledge, friendly instructor. Lots of wildlife and little adventures had. Recommend.
Amazing experience, would highly recommend to anyone!
Jose was very friendly and helpful! The bikes he provided were great for the price, and we enjoyed a unique gravel bike adventure in Spain. There were very few other companies offering gravel bike rentals. I would 100% recommend this adventure with Jose to any travelers in Spain looking to…
It was really enjoyable. I had never done kayaking before but after some short, simple clear instruction I was confidently making it way along the coastline. It was great to see things from the water you would've otherwise have been able to get a view of. I would definitely do…
Excellent day out with super efficient Kieran and Sam. Even a novice like me finally cracked the code to a good kayaking. The caves, guided tour on geological formations punctuated by marshmallow roasting and fossil hunting truly enhanced the overall experience. Would love to do it again. Plus - a…
