All centres are vetted for safety and quality. Your adventure is in good hands with adventuro.

You'll spot the brightly painted houses of Beaumaris as you pull out from the pier and head towards Puffin Island, also known as Ynys Seiriol. Along the way your skipper stops at lighthouses, shipwreck locations and caves, talking you through the history of the area and the wildlife that lives here.
Your skipper navigates through the Sound, then stops at Penmon Point lighthouse before carrying on around the island. Along the way the boat pauses at lighthouses, shipwreck locations and caves, and you hear about the history of this stretch of coast and the bird life that uses Puffin Island through the year, from cormorants, guillemots, razorbills, shags and kittiwakes to puffins in the breeding months. Stops can shift with the tide and what is about that day.
You'll pause again to take in the seal colony and seal cave, where grey seals are often seen bobbing in the water or lying in the sun. Benllech and Moelfre beaches can be seen in the distance before a short coastal tour back to Beaumaris. On the way home you'll pick up speed on Endeavour or Discovery, the 600hp RIBs used for these trips, with a few turns and twists before you step back onto the pier after about an hour. Arrive 30 minutes before departure so we can check you in and fit lifejackets.
You'll leave from Beaumaris Pier and head out along this stretch of the Anglesey coast towards Puffin Island. The unique currents of the Menai Strait create good feeding for the fish that support a large colony of grey seals, and the island is also home to one of the largest cormorant colonies in the UK.
On the way you may see terns and herring gulls, and perhaps a black guillemot, a bird not usually found this far south. Winter visitors can include eider duck and Canada geese, sometimes seen as late as May. Bottlenose dolphins and harbour porpoises also visit the area and occasionally appear on a trip.
You do not need any boating experience. Children aged 4 and over are welcome, and children under 4 are not allowed on for safety reasons. Dogs cannot come on the RIB.
You should be happy sitting in an open boat for about an hour, with spray, wind and no shade. Wear warm, waterproof clothing and suitable footwear, and bring suncream if it is bright. If you are not dressed for the conditions you may not be allowed on board.
Our skippers are fully qualified and have been navigating these local waters for many years. The boats are powerful RIBs with the latest 300hp Mercury engines, coded to category 4 by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency, so they meet strict safety requirements for this kind of trip.
This hour is about getting out on the water. You'll have a lifejacket and a safety briefing before you leave, then a skipper who knows the Sound, the seal cave and the best line home when it is time to open the throttles.
Meet at Beaumaris Pier, Beaumaris, LL58 8BS. Head to the kiosk on the pier 30 minutes before departure so we can check you in and fit lifejackets. There is a large car park next to the pier.
In winter, trips occasionally run from Menai Bridge instead. If that applies to your booking, the details will be in your confirmation email.
Puffins spend most of the year in the open ocean and only return to coastal areas in late spring to breed. You will usually see them at Puffin Island from March or April through to August, though in some years they arrive earlier and leave later.
Around 14 different bird species call the island home at various times of the year, so you will see a wide variety of bird life even outside puffin season. We cannot guarantee exactly what you will see on any one trip.
Usual trip times are 11:00, 12:30 and 15:30, though times can vary through the year. The live calendar is the best place to check the times that are actually running on the day you want.
Please arrive 30 minutes before departure so we can check you in at the kiosk on the pier and fit lifejackets before you board.
Endeavour and Discovery can carry up to 12 passengers each. Both boats have twin Mercury V8 300hp engines, giving each boat 600hp.
The boats are coded to category 4 by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency, which means they meet strict safety requirements for this kind of coastal trip.
Children aged 4 and over are welcome. Children under 4 are not allowed on for safety reasons.
Younger children should be able to sit securely for the hour and follow the skipper's briefing. There is no shade on the boat, so bring layers and sun protection if it is bright.
These RIB rides are not suitable for dogs. We can look after your dog in our kiosk while you are on the trip, depending on how many staff are working that day.
If you want to bring a dog to the pier, mention it when you request the trip so we can confirm whether kiosk care is available for your date.
Warm and waterproof is best. It is always colder out on the water and it can get very windy, so bring extra layers. Powerboat trips can be wet, so wear warm clothing, trainers or lightweight walking boots, and a waterproof coat. Waterproof trousers, gloves and a hat are useful in winter.
It can get very bright on the water, so sunglasses are a good idea, and suncream if it is sunny. If you are not dressed for the conditions you may not be allowed on board.
You may wish to bring binoculars for a closer look at wildlife. We get you as close as we can without disturbing nesting birds. A camera is welcome, though you bring it at your own risk, and there will be plenty of photo stops along the way.
There is limited space on the boat, so small bags are fine and larger items should stay ashore. We'll provide a lifejacket and a safety briefing before you set off.
Trips start from Beaumaris Pier, Beaumaris, LL58 8BS. Head to the kiosk on the pier, say hello, and we'll get your lifejacket sorted. There is a large car park next to the pier.
Occasionally in winter, trips run from Menai Bridge instead. If that happens, you will get the details in your confirmation.
The Menai Strait changes through the year, and each season brings something new to this coastline. If you want the best chance of seeing puffins, come between March and August.
Grey seals are often seen bobbing in the water or lying in the sun, and bottlenose dolphins and harbour porpoises also visit the area. Winter visitors to the island can include eider duck and Canada geese.
Safety comes first. The skippers have been navigating these waters for many years and will only run a trip when conditions are suitable for the RIBs and for the people on board.
If a trip cannot run, we will be in touch as soon as we can to rearrange. Dress for spray and wind even on a fair day, because there is no shade on the boat.

We had a fantastic time! The Skipper was brilliant and carefully tailored the experience to suit all the passengers needs. It was safe, exciting, interesting and a lot of fun. Thank you
The boattrip was amazing! We enjoyed every minute! Jason our captain told us a lot from the wildlife on Puffin Island. We really recommend this trip, it’s worth the money for sure.
Fantastic experience led by friendly, efficient and interesting people.
The instructor/guide was fantastic and very knowledgeable, and we had great fun on the boat
We loved our boat trip, water doughnuts and speeding along 50mph + was great fun. Our skipper was lovely, very knowledgeable and enthusiasm shone through. Want to come back and see the puffins next year... although this was my soul reason to book this trip it really did not disappoint…
The Rib Tour was amazing! Exhilarating ride on the rib combined with fascinating facts about the coastline and the birds on puffin island. Highly recommended, will be booking the bridges tour next.
Exhilarating but also really informative. A great experience all round and highly recommended
Brilliant! Loved when Jason put the RIB into ‘sports mode’. Perfect mix of adventure and information. Beautiful scenery, great morning in the water. Cheers guys.
What a great experience. Our skipper, Jason, was great. Good chat, very knowledgable and really pushed the boat. The boat is an impressive thing which really moves. Great experience! Will be back to do the other tour.
