In the private session we can pick up where you left off. We progress at you pace and we should progress faster than in the group setting.
We have a great team of wing surfing instructors. We are recognised by the sport’s NGBs (BKSA ) and our lessons follow the BKSA syllabus. See below for our lesson details.
Wingfoiling can take around 12 hours of leasons to learn :) Here is a break down of what to expect.
Stage One - WingsurfingThe wingsurfing intro lesson is the ideal first wingsurfing lesson for most. Unless you have a reasonable amount of experience in another foiling discipline, this is the one for you. This session is a 2 hour group session (max 4 students) focused on the basics and will progress you from wing handling on land to riding along on a SUP using the wing to harness the power of the wind.
Learning how to control, manoeuvre, power and de-power the wing in both directions. Generate and control speed using wing and trimming effectively.
This session is aimed at those who have previous wingsurfing experience and are ready to progress on to the foil, or those who have a good level of foiling experience in another watersport such as kiting, windsurfing, surf/sup foiling.
Each session is a 2 hour intensive lesson (max 2 students) focused on transitioning from a regular board without hydrofoil to a foiling setup. During this session you will gain the necessary skills to experience your first glides under the wing!
This will depend on what previous experence you have with other wind sports and how long it takes you to learn something new.
Give us a quick call to see which would be best or book onto the wing intro lesson to see how you get on before booking a package.
From our experience, these are the approximate times to become independent:
Kite Foiler : 2-3 Lessons
Windsurfer : 2-3 Lessons
No Experience : 5-6 Lessons
Winging learning curve is exponential. The more lessons you get in, the easier it will be. After 3 wing lessons you will master the basics.
You dont need to be strong to learn to wing, but climbing onto the board and holding onto the inflatabe will make you tired after 2 hours.
All equipment is included, but you can bring the below:
A surfing wetsuit, if you prefer to use your own
A towel for a shower
Water bottle
Sun cream
