Transform your passion for diving into a professional qualification with the PADI Divemaster course. As the first professional-level certification within the PADI system, this programme develops leadership, supervision, and dive management skills while preparing you to work alongside instructors and guide certified divers.
Progressing to Divemaster level involves much more than simply logging additional dives. Throughout the programme, you'll work closely with instructors while refining buoyancy control, improving rescue skills, developing leadership abilities, and learning how to manage diving activities safely and effectively.
Training combines classroom sessions, independent study, practical workshops, water-based assessments, and real-world experience assisting with diving operations. You'll gain a deeper understanding of diver supervision, risk management, organisation, and how to support both certified divers and students during training activities.
As your confidence grows, you'll begin applying these skills in practical situations while developing the professionalism expected of a dive leader. Upon successful completion, you'll be qualified to supervise diving activities, assist instructors during training programmes, and continue your journey towards instructor-level certifications.
Located on Mallorca's southwest coast, Santa Ponça provides access to a wide variety of dive sites and training environments ideal for professional diver development. Daily diving activities and boat operations create excellent opportunities to gain practical experience throughout the course.
Away from the marina, the area offers beaches, restaurants, accommodation options, and coastal scenery, making it a popular destination for divers spending an extended period training towards professional qualifications.
Participants must be at least 18 years old and hold Advanced Open Water Diver and Rescue Diver certifications, or equivalent qualifications from recognised training organisations.
A current CPR and First Aid qualification completed within the previous 24 months is required, along with a minimum of 40 logged dives to begin the course and 60 logged dives before certification. A diving medical certificate issued within the last 12 months is also required.
Becoming a Divemaster is about more than passing assessments. The programme focuses on creating confident dive leaders who understand both the practical and operational sides of the diving industry while developing strong organisational and communication skills.
Extensive experience training divers from beginner level through to professional certifications allows candidates to learn in a supportive environment with personalised guidance. The combination of practical experience, professional mentorship, and flexible scheduling creates an excellent foundation for a future diving career.
