Yoga and Paddleboarding through adventure Paddleboarding was fantastic! A great experience as part of my sister’s hen do. Lucy was upbeat, had brilliant knowledge to help up with equipment and took some brilliant photos of us on the water!

Set out on a relaxed paddleboard journey along Scotland’s longest river, gliding from Stormont to Perth. This route is ideal for those who’ve paddled before and want to experience gentle moving water with a few lively ripples along the way. With guidance, equipment, and transport between points all taken care of, it’s a smooth and scenic way to spend time on the water.
Meet your instructor at Rodney Gardens car park, where you’ll go through the plan for the day and organise a quick car shuttle to the launch point at Stormont. Once kitted up and briefed, you’ll head out onto the calm stretches of the Tay, getting used to the river’s gentle flow. Guides provide tips throughout the session, helping you build confidence with steering, stance, and flow reading.
The paddle takes you through a beautiful section of river framed by rolling Perthshire countryside. Expect calm pools perfect for practising technique, small riffles to test your balance, and chances to spot kingfishers, beavers, and salmon. After around two hours on the water, you’ll finish back near the meeting point, where dry clothes and a hot drink can round off the day nicely.
This session takes place on the River Tay, one of Scotland’s best-loved waterways, known for its peaceful surroundings and mix of gentle current and open water. The route from Stormont to Perth offers a great introduction to river paddling — quiet, easy-going, and full of character.
The meeting point at Rodney Gardens provides easy parking, changing space, and quick access to the water. Perth’s town centre is just a short walk away, so you can easily grab food or a coffee afterwards.
Participants should have basic paddleboarding experience and feel comfortable standing and turning on calm water. This trip is not suitable for complete beginners, though beginner lake sessions are available separately.
A reasonable level of fitness helps, as you’ll be on your feet for most of the two hours. All safety gear is supplied, and guides ensure conditions and group pace suit everyone’s comfort level.
The centre’s guides have extensive local knowledge of the River Tay and tailor each trip to the day’s conditions and group ability. Their relaxed and friendly approach means you’ll always feel supported and safe on the water.
Each outing is run in small groups to make sure there’s time for guidance, encouragement, and plenty of space to enjoy the surroundings. It’s an easy-going Scottish river trip — well organised, sociable, and a great way to keep building your paddleboarding confidence.
