Join us for a captivating Night Sky Photography Course in the Lake District. We will be gathering at the Old Dungeon Ghyll Car Park, which is a National Trust site, three hours before sunset. This will set the stage for an unforgettable adventure that involves capturing the sunset from the summit of Bowfell (902m), with England's highest peaks, Scafell and Scafell Pike, serving as the perfect backdrop.
Our journey begins by climbing Bowfell to witness a breathtaking sunset over Scafell and Scafell Pike. As we descend to Three Tarns, we capture the tranquil reflection of stars on the still water of the tarn and photograph the night sky. Continuing our descent via 'The Band,' we pause to capture the enchanting Milky Way. The course encompasses planning, equipment, camera settings, focusing techniques, composition, light painting, and post-processing.
This hands-on approach provides participants with a rich understanding of astrophotography, ensuring you leave not just with stunning images but also with the knowledge to continue capturing the beauty of the night sky independently.
No previous experience is required. Suitable for beginners and those with some photography knowledge. Under 18's must be accompanied by a parent or guardian also taking part in the activity.
