Your marshal collects you from an Abu Dhabi hotel while the streets are still quiet, then drives you out onto the dunes for a morning of sand, photographs and a short camel ride. You try sandboarding on a soft slope, pause at a camel farm, and finish at a desert camp before the same jeep takes you back to the hotel.
We'll meet you in your Abu Dhabi hotel lobby, make sure everyone in the group is there, and set off while the roads are still quiet. The first part of the morning is the drive out of the city, and once the suburbs fall away we'll climb onto open sand and the dune run begins. Seat belts stay on for every climb and drop, and there is time between runs to look across the desert and take photographs.
Your marshal reads the dunes and keeps the line as smooth as the sand allows. On a soft slope we'll give you a short talk, and you can try sandboarding if you want to. The sand is powder-soft in the morning, and there is often room for more than one run if the group is happy to wait. After that we'll stop at a camel farm for a few minutes on the ground, then continue to camp for a short camel loop with help from the handler. The ride is brief on purpose, so you still have time for the road back. The same 4x4 will drop you at the hotel you started from, usually late morning, with hotel pickup and return in Abu Dhabi included in the day.
You'll head to open dunes east and south of Abu Dhabi, beyond the last suburbs and industrial zones, where the sand has room to run in long ridges. The morning is spent in that outer desert rather than on the Corniche or the islands, so the drive out is part of the scenery as the city thins and the horizon opens.
We collect you from your Abu Dhabi hotel and return you to the same door after the camel ride. The exact lobby time is sent beforehand. If your stay sits outside the usual pickup loop, we will agree a meeting point that still works for the dunes.
You'll need to be at least five years old, and we run this morning for groups of two to 15. Children travel with an adult. No desert-driving experience is required, because you sit as a passenger with a seat belt on.
We recommend wearing closed shoes and sun protection. Children stay with an adult in the same jeep for the dune run, sandboarding, and the camel ride.
We run morning desert programmes across the UAE every week, and Abu Dhabi safaris are built as one continuous morning rather than a string of separate stops. Your marshal stays with the jeep from hotel collection through the dunes, the board slope, and the short camel loop at camp.
We confirm shared or private vehicles when you book, so the driver knows your group size before pickup. If the dunes close for weather, we contact you directly instead of leaving you waiting in the lobby without a plan.
We collect you from your Abu Dhabi hotel. Be in the lobby at the time we send you. The same 4x4 brings you back to that hotel at the end of the morning.
We collect you from your Abu Dhabi hotel in the morning. The lobby window is sent to you beforehand, so you know when to be downstairs.
Please stay in the hotel until the 4x4 arrives. If your stay is outside the usual pickup area we will tell you before the morning and agree a meeting point that still works for the dunes.
Yes. Hotel pickup in Abu Dhabi is part of the morning, and the same vehicle brings you back after the camp stop. You do not drive yourself into the desert.
Be in the lobby at the time we send you. If you are staying at more than one address, tell us the hotel for that morning.
The outing lasts about four hours from lobby to lobby. That includes the drive out of Abu Dhabi, the dune run, sandboarding, the farm stop, the camel ride, and the return.
How long you spend on each stop depends on the group and the sand. We still aim to have you back late morning.
You'll need to be at least five years old. Children travel with an adult in the same 4x4, and they stay with that adult for the dune run, the board slope, and the camel ride.
Please tell us the ages when you confirm so we can seat the group correctly. The driver keeps the group together for the dunes, the farm, and the camp.
Groups stay at a maximum of 15, with a minimum of two. You share the 4x4 with the rest of the departure, and your marshal keeps the group together for the dunes, the board slope, the farm, and the camp.
Families who arrive together stay in the same vehicle where we can. Solo guests join the next available morning.
No desert-driving experience is required. Your marshal handles the 4x4. You sit as a passenger with a seat belt on for the dune run.
Before sandboarding and the camel ride you get a short briefing on the sand. You can sit a stop out and watch if you prefer.
After the farm stop you continue to camp for a short camel loop with help from the handler. The ride is brief on purpose, so you still have time for the road back.
This is not a sit-down breakfast. Eat at the hotel before pickup if you want a full meal.
We recommend wearing closed shoes you do not mind getting sandy, and bring a hat, sunglasses, and sun protection. A light layer helps at pickup.
We'd suggest leaving loose scarves that can catch on the board. Keep phones in a zip pocket on the dunes.
Yes. The 4x4 moves over soft sand and the ride can feel lively after the tyres are let down. Your driver reads the dunes and keeps the line as smooth as the sand allows.
Tell the driver at the briefing if you want a steadier line. You can also sit out sandboarding or the camel ride and stay with the coffee at camp.
Yes. Sandboarding and the camel ride are there if you want them. Tell the marshal at the briefing if you would rather watch from the ridge or stay with the group at camp.
We won't push anyone onto a board or a camel. The morning still works if you prefer photographs and the dune run.
