Master Rescue focuses on preparing you to handle emergencies and assist other divers confidently. These sessions teach critical rescue techniques, problem-solving under pressure, and practical skills for safe diving. You’ll gain the knowledge to protect yourself and others while building confidence for advanced dives.
Sessions start with a briefing at the Gosforth centre, covering theory, dive planning, and risk management. You’ll discuss scenarios and prepare for practical exercises.
Open water dives are conducted at local sites such as Capernwray quarry, Ellerton inland lake, or Beadnell Bay shore dives. Instructors supervise exercises including simulated rescues, diver recovery, and emergency handling, focusing on real-world scenarios.
After completing all dives, you’ll practise consolidating skills in a controlled environment, ensuring you’re confident managing potential incidents during dives and ready for further professional-level courses.
The meeting point is the Gosforth centre, NE3 2HY, where you receive instruction, dive briefings, and logistical support. Transport to dive sites is arranged individually by participants.
Dive sites are chosen for safety and suitability, providing access to varied conditions and depths. Facilities include showers, changing rooms, and easy water entry points, allowing you to focus fully on skill development and rescue exercises.
You must be at least 15 and hold prior diving qualifications. A valid first aid certificate is also required, or it can be completed in advance.
