Designed to enhance your skills, the sessions cater to those seeking greater confidence and proficiency as they transition into lead climbing.
The session begins with a quick review of your current climbing abilities, followed by a focus on areas that will help you feel more comfortable and proficient as a lead climber. Expect to improve your movement efficiency, especially on steep walls, and gain more understanding of belaying techniques. You’ll also cover how to manage lead falls effectively, which is an important part of progressing in lead climbing.
These coaching sessions are tailored to your individual needs, so you can expect focused, one-to-one attention from experienced instructors. If you choose to attend as a group, you can come along with your climbing partner or a few friends to work through challenges together.

The sessions take place at our state-of-the-art facilities, including the recently opened bouldering cave, which is the largest of its kind in the region. The centre is easily accessible for both locals and visitors to the area, offering an ideal setting for honing your climbing skills.
To take part in this session, participants should have already completed a Learn to Lead course or have equivalent experience. You should feel comfortable climbing on top rope and be familiar with basic belaying skills.

The Lead Improver course is a coaching session designed to help climbers who have completed the Learn to Lead course or have equivalent experience.
It focuses on refining lead climbing skills, such as efficient movement, advanced belaying, and techniques for steep walls. The session is tailored to meet your specific needs and aims to build confidence for those ready to progress further in lead climbing.
Each session lasts for one hour. This allows for focused, personalised coaching to help you improve your lead climbing abilities.
You’ll have one-to-one guidance throughout the session, ensuring your progress is maximised.
To participate in the Lead Improver course, you should have already completed a Learn to Lead course or have equivalent experience in lead climbing. This means you should be comfortable climbing on top rope, have basic belaying knowledge, and be familiar with the fundamentals of lead climbing.

The necessary climbing equipment, such as ropes, harnesses, and helmets, will be provided for the session. However, if you prefer to use your own gear, feel free to bring it along.
Personal climbing shoes are not included, so you should either bring your own or hire them at the centre if needed.
During the session, you’ll improve your climbing technique with a focus on efficient movement, especially on steep walls. You’ll also receive instruction on advanced belaying skills and how to handle and take lead falls.
