The session begins in our heated changing rooms, where you’ll be kitted out with a Rip Curl wetsuit, buoyancy aid, helmet, paddle, and all fishing equipment. Your instructor will provide a full safety briefing and teach basic paddling and fishing techniques to ensure you feel confident before heading to the water.
Once on the kayaks, you’ll explore semi-secret coves, natural rapids, and inlets along Newquay’s coastline. Instructors will guide you to fishing hotspots where you can try different techniques, from dropping a line to trawling behind your kayak. Small group sizes allow for personalised tuition, so whether you’re new to fishing or a seasoned angler, you’ll receive instruction pitched to your level.
While paddling, you’ll also enjoy the rich coastal environment. Keep an eye out for seals, seabirds, and other marine life as your instructor shares insights into the area’s biodiversity and local history. At points along the route, there’s an opportunity to switch between single and double kayaks, giving a varied perspective of the coastline and helping you refine your skills.
