Designed for young divers aged 10–15, these sessions give a full introduction to scuba in a safe, structured environment. Pool sessions help you learn essential skills before heading into open water for real-world experience. You’ll gain confidence and have a lot of fun exploring underwater.
Pool sessions begin with a briefing on equipment and basic scuba techniques. Young divers practise breathing, mask clearing, and buoyancy under close supervision, ensuring safety and confidence.
Open water dives follow, held at sites such as Capernwray quarry (max depth 22m), Ellerton inland lake (max depth 7m), or Beadnell Bay shore dives (max depth 7m). Instructors guide every step, helping juniors apply pool skills in real conditions safely.
You’ll also learn underwater communication, navigation, and buddy skills, building both competence and confidence. By the end, young divers will be ready for further courses and exciting diving adventures.
Pool sessions are held at the heated 25m indoor pool at Seaton Valley High School, Seaton Delaval. Exclusive use ensures a focused, safe learning environment for juniors.
Open water dives take place at beginner-friendly local sites with safe access and suitable facilities, making it easy for young divers to enjoy the underwater experience while practising skills under expert supervision.
