A 90-minute jet ski route along Malta’s northern coastline brings together high-paced riding, clear water, and access to one of the island’s most visited locations — the Blue Lagoon. This experience is suitable for confident riders looking for a challenging session with professional guidance. Each participant rides their own jet ski, following an instructor along a set route past some of Malta’s most recognisable bays.
This session operates as a guided safari rather than a casual rental, offering structure, safety cover, and a defined path around Comino and the northern coast. The timing allows you to cover significant distance while maintaining an enjoyable pace across open water.
The experience begins with check-in at the jetty in St. Julian’s, where you meet your instructor and prepare your kit. After a briefing on safety, route, and riding conduct, you head out into open water as a group. Riders follow the instructor at a controlled pace, with a safety boat accompanying the safari throughout.
The route covers Mellieha Bay, St. Paul’s Bay, and the waters around St. Paul’s Islands before crossing towards Comino. Conditions in this area can be lively, giving more experienced riders a chance to test their handling skills while still operating within safe parameters. Time is spent riding near the Blue Lagoon, where the water is typically clear and sheltered, making it a highlight of the trip.
The return leg follows the coastline back towards St. Julian’s. Riders often experience changing sea states along this stretch, offering a mix of technical and fast sections. Once back at the base, you hand in your jet ski and can change into dry clothes before leaving.
The experience starts and ends at the jetty behind the Verdi St. George’s Bay Marina Hotel in St. Julian’s. Access is via a black gate next to the hotel’s underground parking entrance, followed by a ramp and marked walkway towards the water. This area is a busy maritime zone with several operators, so arriving early helps avoid congestion.
The route itself travels north along Malta’s exposed coastline before crossing towards Comino. This region is known for variable sea conditions and open-water riding, making it well-suited to a structured safari with instructor oversight. The Blue Lagoon provides a contrasting environment with its protected inlet and lighter chop.
Participants must be at least 18 years old and present valid identification before the session starts. A weight limit of 130 kg applies for safety and performance. All participants sign an indemnity form before departing.
A €100 refundable cash deposit is required per jet ski. Riders must be in good physical health and free from back issues, heart conditions, or pregnancy. This activity is not suitable for those prone to motion sickness or those over 65 unless they are in excellent fitness.
This safari gives you structured access to the Blue Lagoon by jet ski — something that is far more enjoyable and safer under instructor supervision than on an unguided rental. The presence of a safety boat and clear riding guidelines keeps the experience controlled while still letting skilled riders enjoy open-water sections.
Sessions follow a defined route that covers significant distance in a short time, making the most of the 90-minute window. The team aims to make the experience accessible for both confident beginners and experienced riders by offering clear instruction, consistent pacing, and support throughout. All equipment, insurance, and safety cover are included for peace of mind.
