Spend a full day exploring Isla Catalina on a guided boat trip from Punta Cana. Snorkel along the famous El Muro coral wall, relax on white-sand beaches, and enjoy an all-inclusive buffet lunch with drinks. With hotel transfers and shared boat transport included, this tour offers a straightforward way to experience one of the Dominican Republic’s most popular islands.
The day begins with hotel pickup from Punta Cana or Bávaro between approximately 6:30 and 7:30 AM. After transfer to La Romana Marina, guests board a shared motorboat for the journey to Isla Catalina.
The first stop is El Muro, a well-known coral wall that drops steeply into deeper water and supports a wide range of marine life. With snorkeling gear and life jackets provided, guests can explore the reef alongside a certified guide.
After snorkeling, the boat continues to Isla Catalina where more than three hours are available to relax on the beach. Guests can swim in calm water, snorkel from shore or simply enjoy the island environment.
Around midday, a buffet lunch is served at a beachfront area. The meal typically includes chicken, pork, pasta, rice, salads and fresh fruit, with drinks such as water, soda and rum available during lunch.
After the beach time ends, the group boards the boat for the return crossing to La Romana before the transfer back to Punta Cana hotels.
Isla Catalina is located off the southeastern coast of the Dominican Republic near La Romana. The island forms part of Cotubanamá National Park and is known for its coral reefs and clear Caribbean water.
El Muro, the main snorkeling site, is a coral wall reef where the seabed drops steeply, creating habitat for reef fish and other marine species.
No previous snorkeling experience is required. Guides provide assistance and safety equipment during the activity.
The experience is not recommended for pregnant travellers. The boat and island facilities are not wheelchair or stroller accessible, and pets are not permitted.
Operating across multiple destinations and having welcomed more than 50,000 travellers, this team focuses on organised marine excursions with experienced guides and clear safety procedures.
Logistics including transport, boat transfers and island access are arranged in advance so guests can focus on the experience itself.
