Paddleboarding lessons in Cornwall offer an exciting and memorable experience for all skill levels. Whether you're new to stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) or looking to refine your skills, the calm waters of the Camel Estuary in Padstow are the perfect place to get started. With a team of experienced instructors, you'll learn essential techniques, safety practices, and how to have fun on the water.
During the 2-hour session, your instructor will introduce you to the basics of paddleboarding, starting with a dry run where you'll learn how to get comfortable with the equipment. You'll practice how to stand, paddle, and turn the board, with plenty of guidance from your instructor. The lessons are tailored to build confidence and make sure you feel secure on the water. Whether you're paddling in sheltered water or moving onto more open areas, you'll leave the session with the skills to enjoy paddleboarding independently.
The session typically takes place in the Camel Estuary in Padstow, known for its calm conditions, ideal for beginners. If conditions change or we need to switch locations to Harlyn Bay, you'll be notified in advance. Please be sure to arrive 15 minutes before your lesson to get set up and meet the team.
The meeting point for your lesson is at Porthilly View, Padstow, PL28 8DH, where a trailer is parked in a small layby. Parking is limited, so be sure to arrive early. You will be provided with a paddleboard, wetsuit, and buoyancy aid, though you are welcome to bring your own wetsuit if preferred. You will be contacted if the meeting point changes to Harlyn Bay.
Make sure to check in with your instructor before the lesson starts and enjoy the beautiful surroundings as you learn to paddleboard.
The minimum age for the lesson is 12 years old, or a height of at least 5ft. Paddleboarding requires a moderate level of fitness, as you'll be standing and paddling on the board for the duration of the session.
If you have any specific health concerns or mobility issues, it's best to discuss them with the team before booking.
