Amazing trip with 3x11 year olds. They loved it. Beat surfing apparently. Guides were amazing, kind, well informed and patient. We’ll be back for sure (take a GoPro if you want pics)
We partner with Rewilding Britain to help protect our natural spaces for future adventures.
All centres are vetted for safety and quality. Your adventure is in good hands with adventuro.

You will find us in the heart of Croyde Bay, steps from one of the UK's most reliable beach breaks. We run surf lessons, coasteering, weekend surf camps, instructor training, equipment hire, and sea sauna sessions from our purpose-built centre on Moor Lane, with heated changing rooms, hot showers, and secure lockers so you can focus on the session.
Our coaches work at a six-to-one ratio on group lessons, hold beach lifeguard and Surfing England qualifications, and coach everyone from first-time surfers to national pathway athletes. Whether you join us for a single lesson, a private session, or a multi-day camp, we keep safety, progression, and time in the water at the centre of every experience.

Best teaching ratio in the UK at 6:1, at an award-winning Surfing England Centre of Excellence. This 2.5-hour intermediate group session is for surfers who are already catching green waves and want to level up with expert coaching on Croyde Bay, using the same Surf Development UK standards that have trained national pathway surfers.
Your lesson takes 2.5 hours with at least 1.5 hours in the water. You sign in at the surf school, get fitted with your wetsuit and board, head to the beach for your beach talk on technique, goals and safety, then return for a warm shower, debrief and get changed.
Coaches give personalised feedback on turns, speed, and wave selection while keeping groups small so you get real time on green waves. Lessons sometimes move to a different time or day when sea conditions and wind mean you will get more from your session.
"I'm catching green waves and turning, now I want to level up." You are confidently paddling out and catching green waves on your own. You can pop up in the right position and start turning as you ride down the line. This is where surfing opens up, and our intermediate coaching helps you push your skills to the next level.
Typical signs you are an intermediate: you paddle out, position yourself, and catch green waves independently; you ride down the line, not just straight to shore; you are starting bottom turns, trimming, and cutbacks; you can read the lineup; you want more challenging conditions and better technique.
What you will learn: perfecting turns and generating speed; improving wave selection and timing; rail-to-rail transitions and linking manoeuvres; developing style, control, and confidence in the line-up.
We are the only purpose-built Croyde surf academy in the heart of Croyde Bay, a short walk from one of the UK's best-known beach breaks. Croyde's powerful sandbank waves break for at least 95% of the year, with enough push to practise turns and speed on green waves through most seasons.
Lessons run from Baggy Lodge on Moor Lane, with indoor changing rooms and hot showers on site, plus secure storage for your belongings while you are in the water. After your session you are a few minutes from the village if you want food, drinks, or a coastal walk along Baggy Point.
You should already paddle out and catch green waves independently, with confidence swimming at least 50 metres in the sea. You do not need to be an advanced surfer, but you should be comfortable duck diving or turtle rolling and spending time beyond the whitewater.
If you are unsure whether you are ready for intermediate coaching, message us in chat and we can advise honestly. Instructors also assess you at the beach on the day and can adjust the session if conditions or your level call for it.
Programmes are led by Damon Beveridge and delivered by ISA-qualified, beach-lifeguard coaches on Softech boards, with the smallest groups in Croyde at six surfers per instructor.
That means more waves, more feedback, and faster progression than busier schools on the beach, with the same Centre of Excellence standards as our beginner and development pathways.
We have got you covered, literally. All equipment is included in your lesson: high-quality surfboards, wetsuits, and neoprene accessories tailored to the conditions throughout the year. In the warmer months, we provide Crocs for the walk down to the sand.
All you need to bring is swimwear to wear under your wetsuit, a towel for drying off and changing after your session, and a big smile. We will take care of the rest.
This session is for surfers who paddle out independently, catch green waves, and want coaching on turns, speed, and wave selection. You should already be comfortable beyond the whitewater most of the time.
If you are still mastering pop-ups in broken waves, our beginner and improver group lesson is the better starting point. Coaches can advise if you are unsure.
You must swim at least 50 metres and be confident spending extended time in the Atlantic with a wetsuit and board.
Mention any medical conditions or injuries in chat when you reserve so instructors can adapt the session and choose an appropriate part of the beach.
All equipment is included: surfboard, wetsuit, boots, gloves, and hood when needed, plus indoor changing and hot showers at Baggy Lodge.
You receive 2.5 hours with a qualified coach and at least 1.5 hours in the water focused on intermediate skills in a group capped at six surfers.
Groups never exceed six surfers per instructor, the smallest ratio for a Surfing England Centre of Excellence in Croyde.
That means more waves per person, faster feedback on rail use and timing, and closer safety supervision in the line-up.
Typical goals include generating speed, bottom turns, trimming along the wave face, better wave selection, and reading the line-up with more confidence.
Your coach sets priorities on the beach based on the day's swell and your personal aims, then reviews progress in a debrief after the session.
Bring swimwear, a towel, and warm clothes for after the lesson. Sun protection helps on bright days even when the water is cool.
We provide boards suited to intermediate surfing on Softech and similar shapes. You may bring your own kit if you prefer a familiar board.
The session lasts 2.5 hours from sign-in at the surf school through kit issue, beach brief, water time, showers, and debrief.
Lessons sometimes move to a different time or day when wind and swell mean you will get better green waves elsewhere on the tide.
Yes. We are the only surf school in Croyde with hot showers, plus heated changing areas and free lockers for your valuables.
Facilities are on site before and after your lesson, so you can warm up quickly between sessions if you are surfing multiple days.
Coaches choose the safest area of the beach and may adjust the plan if the line-up is crowded or the swell is heavy. Intermediate sessions still run in most conditions.
If the ocean is unsuitable, we contact you to reschedule. Safety and productive coaching always come first.
