Spend an hour in Hamsterley Forest with a wood-fired sauna and optional waterfall swim. Heat, cool forest air and wild water sit side by side, so you can move between them at your own pace in a small woodland group.
Arrive in the forest and settle into the wood-fired sauna. When you are ready, step into cool air or take a refreshing waterfall dip where conditions allow. Within the hour you choose how often to move between hot and cold.
This contrast routine is a simple way to support circulation, ease muscle tension and clear your head. Guides keep the atmosphere calm whether it is your first forest sauna or a regular practice. All important session details travel with your ticket email.
Hamsterley Forest is a wild woodland location with uneven ground and tall trees. Sessions run on Saturdays and selected Sundays through the year. The sauna moves seasonally between Blackling Hole and Oak Tree.
Wear sturdy footwear for the walk in. Follow the seasonal meeting point for your date, and do not use the track road near Blackling Hole.
Open to beginners and people returning to sauna practice. You should be comfortable outdoors in a forest water setting and happy to follow safety guidance on the day. Share any relevant health considerations before you enter the heat or the water.
Sessions stay small so there is room to move between sauna, air and water without feeling hurried. This is a true woodland waterfall setting, not a spa room.
Aaron and the team host nature-based contrast sessions with clear ticket notes and practical kit guidance, so you know how to arrive prepared.

Move at your own pace between heat and cold, and speak to the team on the day if you want guidance on how to get started safely.
Swimwear, a towel to sit on inside the sauna, water shoes for waterfall entry, flip flops or sandals around the sauna area, warm layers and a water bottle are the essentials.
Wear sturdy footwear for the walk in, as forest ground can be uneven or muddy.
Outdoor sessions can be affected by extreme weather. Where conditions make it unsafe to run, the session may be postponed and you may receive vouchers to rebook rather than a cash refund, in line with the stated terms.
You will be contacted if plans change. Always check your confirmation email for the latest details before setting off.
A waterfall dip is part of the contrast therapy offer where conditions allow, and many guests choose to go in. It is not a pressured swim lesson, and you can step into cool air instead if that feels better.
Listen to your body, enter and exit carefully with water shoes, and ask the team if you are unsure.
Bookings for this listing are non-refundable. All sales are final.
Extreme weather may still lead to a postponement with rebooking vouchers where stated in partner terms. Read both your Adventuro booking terms and the confirmation email.

About the centre
Hamsterley Forest
Led by Aaron, a qualified breathwork guide, coach, and facilitator in meditation and nature therapy, the work focuses on helping people reconnect more deeply with themselves and with the outdoors. Practices draw on yoga, breathwork, meditation, wild saunas, cold water dips, and time in nature, offering grounded ways to regulate the nervous system and find calm.
Sessions and events are shaped around conscious living as something practical and accessible, whether someone is feeling burnt out, a little lost, or simply wants to feel more grounded and present. The aim is to create welcoming space in wild and beautiful places for community, clarity, and a reset that lasts beyond the day itself.
Operated by The Conscious Self, a partner of adventuro.
