Step away from the busier waters and experience a quieter side of the Lake District. This half-day packrafting adventure offers a relaxed, immersive way to explore secluded bays, gentle shorelines, and ever-changing landscapes. With flexible routes and expert guidance, each journey unfolds a little differently.
Your experience begins with a warm welcome and a short introduction to packrafting. You’ll be fitted with equipment and guided through the basics of paddling, safety, and handling your raft. The pace is relaxed and supportive, making it ideal whether it’s your first time on the water or you’re looking to explore in a new way.
Once afloat, you’ll glide across calm waters, moving away from busy areas and into quieter, more secluded corners. Expect to paddle along peaceful shorelines, slip into hidden bays, and pause to take in wide-reaching views across the landscape. The journey is shaped by conditions on the day, allowing for a natural and flexible route that feels personal rather than fixed.
Each adventure has its own rhythm and ending. You may return to your starting point or finish elsewhere, adding an extra sense of exploration. Depending on the route, the return journey could involve walking, a short transfer, or continuing onwards, making the experience feel more like a journey than a simple out-and-back activity.
Set within the Lake District, this experience takes place on carefully chosen lakes known for their quieter character and scenic surroundings. These locations are selected based on conditions to provide sheltered waters and the best possible experience on the day.
Away from the more crowded areas, you’ll discover a different side of the region — one defined by still waters, open views, and a slower pace. The exact meeting point and route are confirmed in advance, ensuring you’re guided to a location that suits both the weather and the overall experience.
No previous experience is needed to take part. This session is designed to be accessible to beginners, with full instruction provided before and during the activity. A basic level of mobility and comfort around water is helpful, but the focus is on enjoyment rather than performance.
Participants should come prepared for time outdoors. Comfortable clothing suitable for the weather, sturdy footwear, and a willingness to be active for a few hours will help you get the most from the experience. Children aged 8 and above are welcome when accompanied by an adult.
The focus here is on creating a relaxed, personal experience that goes beyond simply getting on the water. Small group sizes allow for a more flexible and tailored approach, adapting routes and pace to suit the group and the conditions. This means no two outings feel exactly the same.
Strong emphasis is placed on safety, guidance, and quality equipment. With a background in paddlesports and outdoor exploration, your guide ensures you feel confident from the start while still leaving room for genuine exploration. The result is a well-supported adventure that feels natural, unhurried, and genuinely memorable.
