This Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) course is a 6-hour accredited session designed for those working in low-risk environments such as offices, gyms, retail spaces, and schools. It meets the Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations of 1981, ensuring your workplace remains compliant while providing valuable life-saving knowledge. Participants complete a mix of practical exercises and classroom learning to build confidence and skill in handling real emergencies.
The Emergency First Aid at Work course combines essential first aid knowledge with realistic, hands-on learning. The morning covers the core principles of first aid, including scene safety, casualty assessment, and the responsibilities of a first aider. You’ll learn how to handle unconscious casualties, perform CPR, and use an automated external defibrillator (AED). Each skill is taught through demonstration and practice, with plenty of time for questions and instructor feedback.
After lunch, the focus moves to practical response in specific situations such as choking, bleeding, burns, and shock. You’ll also learn about recording workplace incidents and the legal obligations of a first aider. The course finishes with a short multiple-choice test to confirm your understanding. Upon successful completion, you’ll receive a certificate valid for three years, confirming your competence as an emergency first aider.
Courses run daily across seven London venues, including Old Street, Victoria, London Bridge, Kings Cross, Greenwich, Charing Cross, and Heathrow. Each venue is fully equipped with the resources and facilities needed for interactive learning, with easy access to public transport links. You’ll receive full joining instructions, including directions and parking details, in your confirmation email.
If you’re booking on behalf of a company or group, in-house training can be arranged at your workplace. This option is often more cost-effective and convenient, allowing your team to train together in a familiar setting. To arrange on-site training, simply contact the team for a tailored quote.
No previous first aid experience is required to take this course. It’s designed for beginners as well as those refreshing their existing qualification. Participants should be able to take part in light physical activities such as kneeling and performing CPR on the floor.
Training is delivered in English, so a reasonable understanding of spoken and written English is required. All attendees must bring a valid form of photo ID for verification before starting the course.
Courses are taught by experienced instructors with professional backgrounds in emergency response, including paramedics, firefighters, and armed forces personnel. Their real-world insight ensures every example and scenario feels relevant and practical. Each session is interactive, encouraging you to build confidence and competence through guided hands-on learning.
With daily courses across London and flexible scheduling for groups, finding a suitable date and venue is easy. Fully accredited and aligned with workplace regulations, this provider is trusted by thousands of companies for its consistent quality and professionalism.
