Learn to ride above the water with an e-foil session in Malmö using a stable, beginner-friendly board. This one-hour experience introduces you to electric foil surfing with structured guidance and time on the water to build real control.
The session begins with a short but essential safety briefing and equipment walkthrough. You’ll learn how the e-foil works, how to control speed using the handheld throttle, and how to position your body on the board. This initial guidance is key, as e-foiling relies heavily on balance and smooth input rather than force.
Once on the water, you’ll start in a low, stable position, getting used to the board’s movement and throttle response. The 150-litre board provides extra volume and stability, making it easier to find balance early on. Many riders begin by riding with the board in contact with the water before progressing to lifting onto the foil.
As confidence builds, you’ll start to experience the sensation of foiling—lifting above the water and gliding smoothly with reduced drag. Some participants choose to use a handlebar initially for added stability, while others progress without it. By the end of the session, most riders are able to achieve short controlled flights and understand how to manage lift and speed.
The session takes place along the Malmö coastline, typically in the Ribersborg area, where conditions are suitable for controlled e-foil learning. The water space allows for safe riding with enough room to practise without interference.
The location provides a practical setup for launching and recovering, with accessible entry points and a clear area for instruction before heading onto the water. Conditions are selected to support learning, focusing on stability and control.
No prior experience is required. This session is suitable for complete beginners and introduces all key elements of e-foiling in a structured way.
Participants should be comfortable in the water and able to swim while wearing a buoyancy aid. A reasonable level of balance and coordination will help, but no specific board sport experience is necessary.
The use of a high-volume, stable board makes a significant difference when learning to e-foil. It allows you to focus on control and technique rather than struggling to stay balanced, which speeds up progression and reduces frustration.
With structured instruction and adaptable setup options such as the handlebar, the session is designed to make e-foiling accessible while still giving you a real understanding of how to ride effectively.
No experience is required. This session is designed for beginners and includes a full introduction to the equipment and how it works.
Even if you’ve never done any board sports before, you can still learn the basics during the session.
E-foiling can feel unusual at first, as the board lifts above the water, but most people are able to get a feel for it within the session.
The key is smooth control and balance rather than strength, and the structured introduction helps make the process manageable.
A higher volume board provides more stability, especially at lower speeds. This makes it easier to find your balance and control the board early on.
It is particularly helpful for beginners, as it reduces the likelihood of falling when starting out.
The handheld throttle controls the speed of the board. Increasing speed generates lift from the foil, allowing you to rise above the water.
Learning to control the throttle smoothly is one of the most important parts of e-foiling.
Many participants are able to achieve short controlled lifts during their first session, although this depends on balance and confidence.
Even if you don’t fully foil, you’ll gain a strong understanding of how the board works.
Yes, some setups include a handlebar option to provide additional stability while learning.
This can make it easier to control your position and build confidence before progressing without it.
Yes, the session can be shared between 1–2 additional people, depending on the booking.
Sharing may reduce individual ride time but can make the experience more social.
It requires balance and coordination but is not heavily strength-based. Most of the effort comes from maintaining control and adjusting your position.
The session is manageable for most fitness levels.
You should bring swimwear to wear under the wetsuit and a towel for after the session.
It’s also a good idea to bring warm clothing to change into afterwards.
If you enjoy the experience, package deals are often available for multiple sessions, allowing you to build skills more quickly.
Repeating sessions helps improve consistency and confidence, especially when learning to control lift and direction.
