Children’s birthdays don’t need to be spent indoors when there’s woodland waiting to be explored. This birthday package combines outdoor adventure with fun learning, giving children the chance to track animals, light fires, cook over flames, and take part in exciting activities. Designed for ages 8–12, but adaptable for younger groups from 6 upwards, it’s an experience they’ll talk about long after the day has finished.
The day begins with a nature walk and scavenger hunt, where children set out in teams to uncover hidden treasures in the woodland. Along the way, they’ll develop observation skills while seeing familiar outdoor spaces in a fresh and exciting way. The hunt is guided to make sure everyone gets involved, and it provides a fun icebreaker that gets the group working together.
Next comes a wildlife tracking expedition. Here, the young adventurers learn to recognise animal footprints, bird calls, and other signs of life around them. These activities not only encourage curiosity about the natural world but also introduce practical skills that have been used for centuries in the outdoors.
The adventure continues with a fire-lighting workshop. Under close supervision, the children will be shown how to create a safe fire using traditional methods. This part of the day always proves to be a favourite, as they take turns building and lighting small fires, learning both responsibility and technique in a hands-on way.
Finally, the group gathers around the fire for cooking. From toasting marshmallows and making hot chocolate to preparing sausages for hot dogs, the session provides a relaxed and rewarding way to close the day. Sharing food outdoors is the perfect chance for everyone to celebrate together, with plenty of laughter and energy left for singing “Happy Birthday” when the cake comes out.
The birthday experience is set in private woodland, providing a safe, natural environment where children can enjoy the outdoors without distraction. With open clearings, shaded woodland paths, and plenty of space to explore, it is the ideal setting for a day of games and adventures.
Away from the busyness of towns and traffic, the woodland offers a real sense of freedom. Children can run, explore, and try new skills while surrounded by nature, making their special day memorable for both them and the adults joining in.
Each group must meet the supervision requirement of at least one adult for every three children. These adults are counted in the overall group size and are invited to take part in every activity alongside the children.
No specialist skills are needed, just a willingness to get involved and enjoy being outdoors. The activities are designed to be accessible and enjoyable for all, with guidance and support provided throughout.
This package is led by skilled outdoor instructors who know how to engage children in a way that is both fun and safe. Every activity is carefully structured to suit the age group, ensuring the right balance between excitement, learning, and safety.
The centre is passionate about using the outdoors to create lasting memories for families. With a focus on inclusivity, safety, and enjoyment, they provide a celebration that goes beyond a typical birthday, giving children an adventure to remember.
The package combines a mix of fun, adventure, and learning designed for children. Activities include a scavenger hunt on a guided nature walk, wildlife tracking to spot signs of animals and birds, hands-on fire lighting workshops, and finishing with a campfire cooking session. Each element is designed to be age-appropriate, interactive, and enjoyable while encouraging teamwork and confidence outdoors.
Children will have the chance to connect with nature in a way that keeps them engaged throughout the day. The activities also build practical skills, from recognising natural materials to understanding fire safety. It’s a carefully balanced programme that blends excitement with safe learning.
The experience runs for around five hours, offering a full session of back-to-back activities without feeling rushed. This allows plenty of time for children to settle into the woodland environment, participate in each workshop, and enjoy the celebratory campfire cooking session.
By structuring the day this way, children get the most out of every aspect of the experience. It also allows breaks to be included naturally between activities, making sure no one feels overwhelmed. The flow of the day keeps the group energised and ensures the party feels like a complete outdoor celebration.
Yes, a simple lunch is provided, which usually includes sausages, buns, crisps, and fruit, along with hot chocolate and marshmallows for toasting over the fire. Dietary requirements can often be accommodated if mentioned when booking, so that all participants can enjoy the shared meal together.
Families are asked to bring their own cake if they’d like a traditional birthday celebration included. The campfire cooking element also adds to the atmosphere, giving children the satisfaction of eating something they’ve had a hand in preparing.
The activities are designed for children aged 8–12, but they can be adapted for slightly younger groups starting from age 6. The level of challenge and supervision is adjusted to suit the age and ability of the children attending.
This flexibility ensures that the party remains fun and inclusive for mixed-age groups or siblings. The goal is to keep everyone safe and engaged, while making sure the activities still feel exciting and memorable.
The package price covers up to 12 people, which can include both children and required supervising adults. If you wish to invite more participants, additional guests can be accommodated for an extra charge per person, up to a maximum of 20.
This system ensures that the event remains safe and manageable, while still offering flexibility for larger groups. It also allows the instructors to give personal attention to each child, keeping the day interactive and enjoyable.
Yes, adult supervision is essential. For safety reasons, at least one adult is required for every three children. These adults are included in the headcount and are welcome to take part in the activities alongside the children.
This requirement ensures that children are properly supported during the day and that the group as a whole remains safe while in the woodland. It also gives adults the chance to share in the adventure, making the event feel more like a family celebration.
Children should come dressed in clothing suitable for outdoor activities, including waterproofs, sturdy footwear, and layers that can be adjusted depending on the weather. Comfort and warmth are the priority since the group will spend the entire day outside.
A small backpack with essentials such as a water bottle, hat, and spare clothes is recommended. Everything else needed for the activities, including fire-lighting materials and cooking equipment, is provided as part of the package.
