Yoga and Paddleboarding through adventure Paddleboarding was fantastic! A great experience as part of my sister’s hen do. Lucy was upbeat, had brilliant knowledge to help up with equipment and took some brilliant photos of us on the water!

Enjoy an easy-going introduction to paddleboarding on the calm waters of Loch Ore Meadows. This one-hour session is ideal for beginners wanting to learn the basics in a safe, supportive environment. With expert guidance and plenty of time to practise, it’s a fun and confidence-building way to try something new outdoors.
You’ll meet your instructor beside the loch, where you’ll be fitted with a paddleboard, buoyancy aid, and wetsuit if required. A short land-based briefing covers stance, paddling technique, turning, and safety before heading onto the water. Initial practice in shallow areas helps you gain confidence and stability.
Once afloat, the instructor offers personalised guidance while you practise paddling, turning, and controlling the board. Calm loch conditions allow you to focus on skill-building without pressure, and the small group size ensures individual attention.
The session finishes with a gentle return to shore, a short recap of your progress, and optional photos of your first paddleboarding experience. You’ll leave feeling confident in your new skills and with advice on how to continue practising safely.
Loch Ore Meadows Country Park is a beautiful outdoor setting in the heart of Fife, known for its wide open spaces, calm water, and surrounding woodland. It’s a popular area for water sports, with easy access and good facilities that make it perfect for first-time paddlers. Wildlife is often spotted here, including ducks, swans, and herons along the shoreline.
The meeting point is beside the main car park, near the water. Your instructor’s vehicle and trailer will be clearly marked, and parking is available on site. Public transport links are nearby, and the country park also has walking trails and picnic areas if you’d like to extend your visit after your session.
No previous paddleboarding experience is needed for this session. You should feel comfortable in and around water and be able to follow simple instructions. A basic level of fitness is helpful but not essential, and all safety equipment is provided. Before starting, participants must complete a short waiver form.
If you or someone in your group requires additional support or specific adjustments, private sessions can be arranged to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone. Instructors are experienced in working with a range of abilities and will make sure you feel confident before going onto the water.
This team takes pride in offering accessible, friendly sessions that help people of all ages discover the joy of paddleboarding. Safety is always the priority, with qualified instructors and top-quality equipment ensuring a smooth and comfortable experience. Each session is run with patience, care, and plenty of encouragement.
Small group sizes mean you’ll get the attention you need to build confidence quickly. Whether it’s your first time on a board or you’re returning after a break, you’ll leave with new skills and a real sense of achievement — and maybe even a few great photos from your time on the water.
You’ll need to come prepared for time on the water, so make sure to bring essentials that keep you comfortable before, during, and after your session. A towel and a full change of clothes are recommended in case you get wet, along with swimwear or trunks to wear under a wetsuit. It’s also a good idea to wear shoes that can get wet or bring a spare pair for afterwards.
Snacks and drinks will help keep your energy up, especially on longer sessions. If you take any medication, please ensure you have it with you on the day. And, most importantly, bring a sense of adventure and a willingness to have fun—this makes all the difference on the water.
These activities are open to participants aged 8 and above. This ensures everyone taking part can safely handle the equipment and enjoy the experience. The sessions are designed to be inclusive and family-friendly while still maintaining the right level of supervision and safety for younger participants.
Anyone under 18 must have a parent or guardian either on the water with them or nearby at the viewing point for the duration of the session. This policy may vary slightly depending on the specific activity or location, but safety and supervision are always the top priority.
All sessions depend on the weather and water conditions to make sure they’re safe and fun for everyone involved. In the case of strong winds, heavy rain, or unsafe water levels, sessions may need to be postponed or moved to a more sheltered location. The decision will always be made with your safety in mind.
If a session has to be rescheduled or relocated, you’ll be contacted in advance with as much notice as possible. The team keeps a close eye on forecasts and conditions, and any changes will be clearly communicated so that you can plan your day with confidence.
Most beginners manage to stand within the first 10–15 minutes. You’ll start kneeling to build stability and gradually transition to standing under the instructor’s guidance. Everyone progresses at their own pace, with practical tips to help improve balance quickly.
The calm loch makes it easy to practise without pressure, and minor adjustments to posture or paddle technique often lead to rapid improvement.
Yes, the session includes turning and manoeuvring techniques. Simple demonstrations are given on land before practising on the water, with personalised guidance to improve efficiency and control.
Participants will understand how weight distribution and paddle angle affect direction, enabling them to navigate the loch confidently by the end of the session.
You’ll learn how to stay stable, recover from falls, and reboard your board independently. The instructor demonstrates techniques for safe self-recovery and provides tips for avoiding common mistakes.
Additionally, the session covers basic water safety awareness, including spatial awareness, safe paddling distances, and reading water conditions, which helps build confidence for future paddling sessions.
