



Our MTB Beginners Session is designed for those looking to improve foundational mountain biking skills. Learn techniques to confidently tackle lower-level graded trails at trail centres, focusing on essential skills like cornering, braking, and body positioning. This course helps you develop the confidence and efficiency needed to progress as a rider
During our MTB Fundamentals Session, you will work on essential mountain biking skills to boost your confidence and efficiency on the trails. You will learn to rectify negative body position habits, master cornering techniques, and efficiently use your brakes. You'll also practice basic skills such as wheel lifts and bunny hops, gain insights into line choice techniques, and get an introduction to handling drops and roll downs. Throughout the day, you will build confidence through practice and accomplishment. The session begins at 9:00am with a welcome and setup, followed by riding at 9:30am, and includes 6 hours of hands-on coaching and skill development.
Typically, our fundamentals sessions take place within a trail centre such as Nevis Range or Laggan. We will arrange to meet you at a convenient location to the trailhead and provide directions via email.
Although you don't need prior mountain biking experience to join our Fundamentals session, we do ask that you organise the following:

Yes, we expect participants to bring their own bikes in full working order. Bike hire is available from our partners if needed.
No, lunch is not provided. However, your coach will discuss the best lunch options available nearby.
Wear a suitable helmet, protective gear, and layers of warm, waterproof, and breathable clothing. The weather can be changeable.

The standard ratio is 1 coach to 3 participants. We can accommodate groups of 4-6 riders at an additional cost.
Bring your bike, helmet, protective gear, food and water for the day, warm and waterproof layers, an inner tube, hanger, brake pads, and any other specific parts for your bike.
