Explore the underground world on our Beginner Caving Experience Course. Perfect for beginners, families and groups of friends. This cave is perfect for a beginner, big areas to explore and steeps of history from the Victorians. All the caves and mines in the course are horizontal and do not require any climbing or abseiling. Our expert guides are experienced and professional, which will give you the history, geology and stories of the chosen cave/mine.
What to Expect
Meet our guides at the chosen location, we then give out the equipment, which includes: all safety and technical equipment. Then after a safety brief, head up hill towards the cave/mine towards the top of Matlock Bath [This is quite steep]. Next our experienced cave/mine guides provide a guided tour through the various chambers of the underground labyrinth. They offer optional squeezes and challenges, along with the history and geology of the cave/mine system.
Prerequisites
No previous experience is required for this activity. We have caves suitable for children aged 7 years and over, making it a family-friendly adventure.
