What to Expect
During this engaging 3-hour session, you will be introduced to the essentials of outdoor climbing. The course covers the fundamental skills necessary for safe climbing, including how to fit and adjust your harness, properly tie into the rope with a secure knot, and use a belay device. You'll also learn key climbing terminology and how to select suitable routes based on your skill level.
The Peak District National Park provides a gorgeous backdrop, with popular climbing spots like Stanage, Burbage, and Froggatt Edge. Our experienced instructors, with over a decade of climbing expertise, will guide you through the climbing experience, ensuring you feel confident and secure as you tackle your first outdoor climbs.
Location
The session takes place at Burbage Valley car park. The Peak District National Park offers some of the best rock climbing in the country with venues set in scenic locations including Stanage, Burbage,
Froggatt Edge and more.
Prerequisites
No prior climbing experience is necessary for this course. Participants should be in reasonable health and able to walk to the climbing sites comfortably.
All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, whether they are climbing or not.
