What to Expect
This one-day course is designed to build your confidence in navigation through hands-on learning and practical exercises. You’ll start by familiarising yourself with cardinal points and compass basics before moving on to map fundamentals such as setting the map, understanding symbols, and using contour lines. Each session will be tailored to the group’s needs, ensuring that you gain a comprehensive understanding of navigation in various settings, including fields, forests, and around homes and farms.
Throughout the day, you'll engage in exercises that enhance your ability to identify landscape features, use a compass, and plan effective routes. With a maximum of six participants, you'll benefit from personalised attention and support, allowing you to develop your skills in a supportive and engaging environment. This course does not provide a certificate upon completion.
