


Join us for a week of hiking through some of Scotland's most iconic Munros, from the towering Ben Nevis to the rugged peaks of Glencoe. This guided adventure offers the perfect opportunity for experienced hillwalkers to challenge themselves while enjoying beautiful Highland scenery, expert guidance, and a comfortable stay in Ballachulish.
Day 1: Arrival at River Mill House, Ballachulish
Arrive and settle into River Mill House in the scenic village of Ballachulish. You’ll have time to meet your fellow hikers before enjoying a delicious evening meal. The guide will go over the trip itinerary, providing an overview of the hikes to come.
Day 2: Buachaille Etive Mor
After a hearty breakfast, we head out to hike Buachaille Etive Mor, one of the most striking peaks in the area. The route takes us along mountain paths with a steep ascent leading to beautiful views. This hike spans 11km with 956m of ascent and is expected to take about 5 hours, including breaks and photo stops.
Day 3: Ballachulish Horseshoe Munros – Beinn a' Bheithir and Sgurr Ban
Today, we tackle the Ballachulish Horseshoe, starting with Beinn a’ Bheithir and then Sgurr Ban. The trail offers a variety of terrain, from forestry tracks to rocky mountain paths. This 11km route with 1219m of ascent will take us around 5 hours 40 minutes to complete, offering magnificent vistas as we go.
Day 4: Beinn na Aighenan and Ben Starav
A slightly longer day, today’s hike covers 16km and 1575m of ascent. Starting with Beinn na Aighenan, the trail takes us over rough mountain terrain to the summit of Ben Starav. The hike is expected to take approximately 7 hours 58 minutes, offering amazing views of the surrounding peaks and valleys.
Day 5: Rest Day
Take a well-deserved rest today. Use the day to relax, explore the surrounding area, or chat with the guide about the next hikes. The guide will also be available for any questions you may have about the landscape, geology, or history of the region.
Day 6: Carn Mor Dearg and Ben Nevis
The day begins with an ambitious hike to Carn Mor Dearg and the iconic Ben Nevis. We’ll take in 16.3km of mountain footpaths with 1507m of ascent, passing through varied terrain with a little exposure. This hike will take approximately 7 hours 48 minutes and will offer incredible views from the summit of Ben Nevis, the highest peak in the UK.
Day 7: Stob Coire Sgreamhach and Bidean Nan Bian
Our final hike takes us to the gorgeous peaks of Stob Coire Sgreamhach and Bidean Nan Bian. This 11km route with 1284m of ascent will take about 5 hours 49 minutes. The rugged terrain and steep gradients provide a fantastic end to the week’s hiking, with unparalleled views of the surrounding valleys and mountains.
Day 8: Departure
After a final breakfast, say your goodbyes and depart for your onward journey. We can drop you off at Fort William or Aviemore station in time for your departure.

You’ll stay at the charming River Mill House in Ballachulish, which offers comfortable, well-equipped rooms and a warm, welcoming environment. Participants should be experienced hillwalkers with a good level of fitness, as this holiday involves multi-day hikes with significant ascent. You’ll need to be comfortable walking on rough mountain terrain and be prepared for varied weather conditions.
While the hike is not intended to be extremely challenging, it’s important to have prior experience in mountain walking.
