Whether you're a beginner eager to navigate your first rapids or a grade 2 paddler seeking to enhance your skills, our course in Llangollen, North Wales is the perfect setting to launch onto this exhilarating journey.
Designed around our innovative 5 Elements of Whitewater Kayaking model, each day of the course focuses on a specific aspect. From reading whitewater to mastering boat control and embracing the right mindset, our structured approach ensures comprehensive skill development throughout the week.
Based in Llangollen, North Wales, our course utilises the River Dee as the ideal playground for honing your whitewater skills.
To maximise your learning experience, this course is suitable for whitewater beginners with some flat water kayaking experience and semi-experienced grade 2 kayakers seeking structured coaching.
Participants should have basic boat control skills, be able to paddle forwards over a reasonable distance, and maintain stability in their kayak.
Please Note: Equipment is not included and you are encouraged to use your own. However, we can support with equipment rental. Please let us know in the comments when you book if you would like us to arrange this.

Ideally, this course is designed for paddlers ages 18+.
However, junior paddlers aged 16 and over are welcome to join any of our open training courses, provided they have the required skill level.
We may also extend this offer to paddlers aged 14+ in certain circumstances if we know them and they are mature for their age, and this may be decided case by case.
Please just get in touch and we will see what we can do. We may also be able to arrange a bespoke option incorporating younger paddlers if we conclude that it would not be appropriate to join this specific trip.
Yes, you can hire any equipment needed at an additional charge. This depends on the group size taking place.

On standard courses, we can include - Kayak, Paddle, buoyancy aid, spraydeck, helmet, and 3mm wetsuit separates.
If you're booking outside of summer, we recommend bringing your own thicker wetsuit and cag. You should bring your own footwear (closed-toe and with tread for walking around on the river bank and over rough ground).
Yes, participants should have basic flat-water kayaking skills. Some experience in grade 2 whitewater is beneficial but not mandatory.
