This three-day Zero to Hero package at South Fistral is for beginners aged 8 and up who want structured coaching, video feedback and plenty of time on the water. You'll have three two-hour lessons, keep the kit for the rest of each day, and finish with photos from the last session. Groups stay small, with no more than four people, so your instructor can stay close as you build from the basics towards green waves.
Over the three days, you'll work through surf fundamentals, starting from the basics and building towards more advanced skills. On day one, you'll be introduced to surfing techniques and learn how to handle the board and position yourself effectively. By day two, you'll receive video feedback so you can pinpoint areas for improvement, then spend the afternoon practising on your own, with surf equipment available for the rest of the day.
On day three, a photographer will capture you in action as you show off your newly acquired skills. Each day's surf session is typically scheduled between 10am and 12pm, though times will be confirmed upon booking. You keep the photos and videos, so you have a record of your progress. This intensive stretch is designed to help you move from beginner to a more confident surfer, ready to ride green waves by the end of your trip.
Newquay is a well known surfing town, with beaches and consistent waves that suit a wide range of abilities. South Fistral gives you a sandy shoreline and plenty of space to practise, whether you're catching your first wave or working on your technique as the days go on.
You'll meet us on the grass at South Fistral, in front of Fistral Beach Hotel and Spa, just to the left of the decking. Look out for our smoke green surfboards. Parking can be tight in Newquay, so leave plenty of time; Atlantic Road and Pentire Headland car parks are a short walk away if South Fistral is full.
Participants should be comfortable in the water and able to swim at least 25 metres. No prior surfing experience is necessary, as the three days are built to take you through the basics and then push on from there.
A good level of fitness and comfort in the water will help you get the most from the sessions. Lessons are open to ages 8 and above, and groups stay between one and four people so the coaching stays personal.
Our instructors are passionate about sharing the sport with others. With years of experience and a strong understanding of different learning styles, they create a supportive environment that allows you to progress at your own pace. Each instructor is highly qualified and up to date with current surf coaching methods, keeping the focus on your safety and progress in the water.
We keep a family-run feel, with personalised attention for every person on the course. The team is committed to creating a stretch of days that leaves you with new skills and memories that last well beyond the last session.

The Zero to Hero Surf Package is an intensive 3-day surf course designed to take beginners through the essential skills needed to improve quickly. You'll have a two-hour lesson each day, with coaching that builds from the basics towards riding green waves.
You'll also receive expert instruction, video analysis on day two, photos on day three, and the chance to practise with the right equipment for the rest of each day.
Each surf session lasts for 2 hours. On day 2, you'll also receive a video analysis of your performance to identify areas for improvement before you head back out to practise.
On day 3, you'll have a photographer capturing your surfing, so you can see how far you've come by the end of the three days. Session times are typically 10am to 12pm and will be confirmed when you book.
On day 2 of the package, your instructor will film your surfing and then provide a breakdown of the footage to give you personalised feedback. You'll see your positioning, paddling and pop-up from the water rather than trying to remember how it felt in the moment.
This allows you to see your technique clearly and gain targeted tips to help you improve during the afternoon practice session, when you still have the kit for the rest of the day.
No prior surfing experience is necessary for this package. It is specifically designed for beginners who want to learn the basics and progress as much as possible over the three days.
