Day two follows the Draa Valley south through Agdz and long palm oases toward Mhamid, where the paved road meets the open desert and camels wait for the ride into camp at sunset.
Day three is sunrise on the dunes near Mhamid, the ride back to the vehicles and a return along the Draa and Anti-Atlas to Agadir with rest stops in oasis villages. The route suits travellers based on the coast who want a Sahara taste without flying to Marrakech first, and the three-day pace avoids compressing the Atlas crossing and the Draa drive into a single exhausting day.
Mhamid sits at the end of the Draa Valley where the paved road meets the open desert, closer to Erg Chigaga country than the Merzouga dunes. Palm corridors and kasbah walls line much of the southbound road, with the Anti-Atlas giving way to pre-Sahara heat as you descend from the coast.
