Escape the city for a laid-back weekend of surf, skate, and sauna in one of the UK’s best coastal spots. Set in Newquay, this 2-day experience brings together the energy of the waves, a top local skatepark, and the chance to unwind in a beachside sauna, all with cosy accommodation near the sea.
The weekend starts with an optional group departure from London, meeting at Hammersmith around 6:30pm on Friday. On arrival in Newquay, you’ll settle into beachside accommodation just a short walk from the waves. Saturday kicks off with your first surf lesson led by experienced local instructors, tailored for complete beginners or those looking to sharpen their technique. After some time to relax or explore the beach, the day continues with a visit to Concrete Waves skatepark – a well-designed space suited for all abilities, whether you're trying it out for the first time or already comfortable on a board. The evening is free for you to enjoy Newquay or cook your own meals using the accommodation’s kitchen facilities.
Sunday begins with another surf session where you'll continue building on your wave confidence and board skills. After drying off, you’ll enjoy a sauna session, perfect for loosening up after the surf and skate sessions. The weekend wraps up with return travel to London, aiming to be back by around 10pm. Throughout the weekend, all surfboards, wetsuits, and safety equipment are included, so you just need to pack the essentials like towels, beachwear, and toiletries.
Newquay is Cornwall’s most recognised surf destination, with consistent Atlantic swells and wide sandy beaches. The accommodation is located within walking distance of the main surf spots, giving you the flexibility to spend extra time in the water or wander the coastal paths. The area is lively, with local surf shops, casual dining, and plenty of scenic views, making it ideal for a short break.
The skate session takes place at Concrete Waves, Newquay’s purpose-built skatepark known for its smooth layout and features suitable for beginners and experienced riders. Everything is set within a manageable walking distance or short drive, making it easy to move between the sessions and free time.
You’ll be staying in comfortable shared accommodation within minutes of the beach. It’s clean, relaxed, and geared for surfers, offering easy board storage and access to showers after time in the water.
A shared kitchen is available for self-catering, and you're welcome to bring or buy your own meals locally. All you need to bring are towels, beach slippers, sunscreen, and your own toiletries.
This weekend is open to anyone aged 18 and over attending alone, or teens when supervised by a responsible adult. While no prior surfing or skating experience is necessary, a general level of fitness and comfort in water is helpful. The sessions are tailored to suit all levels, so beginners will be supported, and returning surfers can continue improving.
If you're booking solo, that’s absolutely fine – but we require at least 5 participants in total for the trip to go ahead. We can cater to larger groups on request, and all necessary surf and skate equipment is provided for the duration of the trip.
