A structured training programme designed to support your climbing over a 12-week period with clear direction and ongoing guidance. It begins with an assessment session to understand your current level, followed by a coaching session and continued support throughout the plan. This approach helps you build consistency, target weaknesses and develop stronger overall performance.
The programme starts with a detailed 2-hour assessment session where your current climbing ability, movement patterns and goals are reviewed. This session helps identify key areas to focus on and forms the basis of your personalised 12-week plan. You’ll leave this stage with a clear direction for your training.
Over the following weeks, you’ll work through a structured plan designed around your climbing and available time. This includes targeted exercises, session guidance and progression points to help you develop consistently. Support is provided throughout, allowing you to check in, ask questions and adjust the plan where needed.
A follow-up coaching session is included to review progress, refine technique and adjust your focus for the remainder of the programme. Additional coaching sessions can also be added if required to support further development or address specific areas in more detail.
The assessment and coaching sessions can take place indoors at climbing walls across the West Midlands or outdoors in the Peak District, depending on your goals. Indoor venues are selected based on the type of training required, while outdoor sessions are commonly based around areas such as The Roaches and Stanage Edge.
The training plan itself is designed to be flexible, allowing you to train at your local wall or outdoor crag where appropriate. This makes it suitable for climbers who want structured development while fitting sessions around their own schedule and location.
There is no minimum climbing level required to join the programme, and it is suitable for both newer climbers and those with more experience. The plan is tailored to your current ability and adjusted as you progress through the 12 weeks.
For anyone under 18, an adult must be present during any in-person coaching sessions. This ensures appropriate supervision and support throughout the programme.
Coaching is delivered by a qualified climbing coach with over 10 years of experience working with a wide range of abilities. The focus is on structured, practical development that helps climbers make steady and measurable progress over time.
As a small family-run setup, the programme is kept personal and adaptable. Support is ongoing throughout the 12 weeks, ensuring you are guided, monitored and adjusted as needed rather than left to follow a generic plan.
Outdoor sessions will always go ahead where conditions are safe and suitable, as weather can often change quickly. A decision will be made as close to the session as possible to give the best chance of running the day as planned.
If conditions are not suitable and the session needs to be cancelled, you will be offered an alternative date at no extra cost. The aim is to make sure you still get the full experience without losing your booking.
All coaching sessions and courses are open to climbers of every ability, from complete beginners to those with more experience. Each session is adapted to suit your level, so you can progress at a pace that feels right for you.
If you are unsure whether a session is suitable, you can always ask in advance. Guidance can be given to help you choose the right option based on your current experience and goals.
All essential equipment can be provided, so you don’t need to worry about bringing your own gear if you’re new or don’t have access to it. Everything supplied will be suitable for the session and properly maintained.
If you do have your own equipment, you are welcome to use it. This can be helpful if you are already familiar with your gear and want to continue using it during your session.
Outdoor sessions are typically run in the Peak District, offering a range of locations suited to different abilities and types of climbing. Specific venues are chosen based on the goals of the session and current conditions.
Indoor sessions take place at climbing and bouldering walls across the West Midlands, selected depending on the facilities needed. If you have a preferred location in mind, this can often be arranged by request.
There is no strict minimum age for sessions, making them accessible to a wide range of participants. Each booking is considered on an individual basis to ensure the experience is suitable and enjoyable.
For anyone under the age of 18, an adult must be present throughout the session. This helps provide support, supervision, and a safe environment for younger climbers.
Your plan is built from the initial 2-hour assessment session where your movement, strengths and areas for improvement are carefully observed. This gives a clear starting point for structuring your 12-week progression.
From there, the plan is tailored around your goals, availability and current ability. It is designed to be realistic and achievable while still challenging enough to create steady improvement.
Training frequency will depend on your current lifestyle, climbing experience and goals. The plan is flexible so it can fit around your schedule rather than forcing a rigid routine.
You’ll be given clear guidance on how often to train and what each session should focus on, helping you stay consistent without overtraining.
The follow-up session is used to review your progress, check technique improvements and adjust your training focus if needed. It ensures you are moving in the right direction and getting the most out of the programme.
This session also gives you the chance to ask questions and refine any areas that feel unclear or challenging before continuing your progression.
