AIDA Competition Freediver is for recreational freedivers who want to stand on a competition platform without guessing what the judges are watching. You already hold AIDA 2 Freediver skills. This course translates them into STA, DYN and CWT categories under real AIDA rules, not the informal depth sessions you did on holiday.
Classroom work comes first: international competition regulations, the eight freediving disciplines and the procedures that keep events fair. Only then do you move into simulated pool or open water competition environments where small mistakes cost white cards. Your instructor wants you to look competent, not heroic.
Minimum scheduling is two pool or open water sessions, though centres often spread theory and simulations across a long weekend. Passing the theory exam at 75% is non-negotiable. Turning up having only read Instagram highlight reels is a poor strategy. That is normal instructor frustration, not personal criticism.
Competition Freediver is assessed through theory and practical simulation under AIDA standards.

Students who skim the rulebook once usually retake the exam. Read properly; judges have less patience than instructors.
