• Module 1: Passage planning

• Module 4: Passage making and ability as skipper
• Module 5: Yacht handling under power
• Module 6: Yacht handling under sail
• Module 7: Adverse weather conditions
• Module 8: Emergency situations
• Outcome: Prepared to undertake coastal passages by day and night

• Experience: 15 days, 2 days as skipper, 300 miles and 8 night hours
• Age: 17
• Fitness: Able to participate in the course format (afloat, classroom or online as applicable). You will get wet on practical courses.

5 days Format: This course takes place on the water..

Continuous practical assessment by your RYA instructor. No written exam unless noted for theory modules.

• You demonstrate the course skills to your instructor's satisfaction on the water or in the classroom.
• Extra coaching time is normal if a skill needs another pass.
• Certificate issued once you consistently meet the course standard.
