What is the FAIB?
The First Aid Industry Body (FAIB) is a UK trade body that accredits first aid training providers against quality and compliance benchmarks. FAIB approval signals that a training company meets agreed standards for tutoring, assessment and record-keeping; certificates are issued by the provider or through linked awarding organisations depending on the course.
FAIB accreditation is commonly sought by workplace first aid trainers and outdoor first aid specialists. It is not itself a qualification, but it helps employers and activity centres identify reputable trainers when they need first aid cover for staff and instructors.

Choosing a course
Ask whether the listing is FAIB-accredited if your employer mandates it, and confirm which awarding organisation issues the certificate (FAA, STA or equivalent). Outdoor leaders usually need sixteen-hour outdoor syllabi regardless of FAIB status. Leave a comment when you book with your compliance requirement.
Compare course length, venue and whether scenarios are outdoors. FAIB accreditation covers the training company; it does not replace checking that the qualification level matches your role.
