The Stołowe and Owl Mountains are the Sudetes' sandstone theatre — tableland labyrinths, forest ridges and rock formations that suit day hiking and outdoor climbing without full alpine logistics. Fog and rain still arrive fast; trails can be uneven and slippery after showers. Base in nearby valley towns and treat weather as part of the route choice.
Tablelands and ridges
Under the Sudetes, Stołowe and Owl Mountains complement Karkonosze granite with sandstone character. Beginners get shorter scenic walks through rock mazes; longer ridge days need better footwear and navigation. Pair with Karkonosze mountain biking or winter skiing when you want a broader Sudetes week.
