For those moving from hillwalking towards the mountains, scrambling on ridges like Striding Edge and Sharp Edge is a natural stepping stone into climbing proper.
Mountain routes
The Lakes' mountain crags offer some of the best adventure climbing in England — long, multi-pitch routes in committing settings that combine climbing skill with mountain judgement. Guided days with a qualified Mountain Instructor open these routes up to climbers who don't yet have the experience to tackle them independently.
