Our guided snorkelling experience offers a chance to improve your skills while exploring the diverse marine life just off the coast. With expert instructors, the session balances learning with the enjoyment of the underwater environment, suitable for both beginners and those with some snorkelling experience.
The session begins at the dive school where participants receive a safety briefing and guidance on snorkelling techniques to help improve their skills in the water. Following a gentle pre-snorkel stretch routine, you will be suited up with all necessary equipment provided by trusted suppliers. The group then walks just two minutes to the nearby ocean access point, ensuring minimal hassle before entering the water.
Once in the water, the expert guide leads you through a carefully selected route teeming with marine life, offering tips on breathing and observation techniques to maximise your snorkelling experience. The session focuses on both safety and skill development, with instructors maintaining close contact to support each participant and enhance their confidence. The pace is relaxed, allowing time to appreciate the rich underwater environment and build snorkelling competence.
The starting point is located within Jardines del Puerto Shopping Centre in Puerto Del Carmen, Tías, Lanzarote, providing easy access to essential facilities and parking. The dive school is just a short walk from the ocean, making the transfer to the water quick and convenient. This location benefits from clear, calm waters that are ideal for snorkelling and often reveal a variety of marine species in natural surroundings.
Puerto Del Carmen is a well-known resort area with a reliable climate, making it a popular spot for water sports all year round. The nearby marine environment offers a sheltered coastline with diverse underwater habitats, including rocky reefs and sandy bottoms, giving snorkellers an opportunity to see a wide range of fish, plants, and other sea creatures.
Participants should be comfortable in the water and able to swim independently. While no prior snorkelling experience is required, a basic level of physical fitness will help you enjoy the session fully. Parental consent is necessary for those under 18, and although there is no maximum age limit, individuals should consider their own health and stamina before joining.
It is recommended to arrive with appropriate swimwear and to bring a towel and any personal items needed after the session. The team ensures all essential equipment is supplied, including wetsuits, masks, snorkels, and fins, so no additional gear is needed unless preferred.
The team operates with a high instructor-to-student ratio to provide personalised attention, focusing on both safety and skill development during every session. Equipment is maintained and renewed regularly, sourced from a reputable brand known for quality, ensuring comfort and reliability. This commitment allows participants to focus on improving their snorkelling ability with confidence.
Sessions take place in a well-equipped facility in a convenient location with easy access to the ocean. The instructors bring years of experience and a passion for underwater activities, creating a supportive environment for snorkellers of all levels. The structure and approach to training ensure a rewarding experience that combines learning with the enjoyment of Lanzarote’s coastal waters.
It’s best to come prepared with swimwear and a towel, as you’ll be getting into the water shortly after arrival. Wearing a comfortable swimsuit underneath your clothes will save time when changing. You may also want to bring sunscreen to protect exposed skin before and after the session, plus a water bottle to stay hydrated.
Since all snorkelling equipment is provided, there’s no need to bring your own gear unless you prefer to use personal items like a mask or snorkel. Comfortable footwear is advisable for the short walk from the dive school to the ocean. If you have long hair, a swim cap or hair tie might help keep it tidy while underwater.
No previous experience is necessary to join the session. The instructors provide a thorough briefing and teach key techniques to ensure you feel comfortable in the water. Beginners are guided step-by-step to build confidence and improve snorkelling skills throughout the hour-long session.
If you have snorkelled before, this session offers an opportunity to refine your technique and learn from expert instructors who focus on safety and skill development. The relaxed pace allows everyone to benefit, regardless of experience level.
A basic level of fitness and the ability to swim are required for safety reasons. Participants should be comfortable in open water and able to manage light physical activity such as swimming and finning. The session involves gentle stretching beforehand to prepare your body for the water.
If you have any medical conditions or concerns about your fitness, it’s advisable to check with your doctor before booking. The instructors can accommodate most fitness levels, but personal health should always be considered.
Safety is a priority throughout the session, starting with a detailed briefing on what to expect and how to stay safe in the water. The instructor-to-student ratio is kept low, allowing close supervision and individual support while snorkelling.
All equipment is maintained to high standards, including wetsuits and snorkelling gear, ensuring comfort and reliability. Instructors are trained in emergency procedures and monitor conditions continuously to respond promptly to any issues.
You are welcome to bring and use your own snorkelling gear if preferred. However, all participants are provided with high-quality, well-maintained equipment as part of the session to ensure safety and comfort.
If you do bring your own equipment, it’s important that it fits correctly and is in good condition. Using your own gear can make the experience more familiar, but instructors will still provide guidance to ensure proper use and safety.
The waters near Puerto Del Carmen offer a diverse range of marine species, including colourful fish, sea urchins, and various types of algae, lava reefs, angel sharks, rays, cuttlefish and octopus. The route is chosen to maximise opportunities to observe the local underwater environment.
Visibility is generally good, allowing snorkellers to enjoy close encounters with marine life in its natural habitat. While sightings can vary with conditions and season, the area is well-regarded for its rich biodiversity.
Yes, solo bookings are absolutely welcome. While the minimum group size for the session is two people, individuals can still book, and the team will do their best to pair solo participants with others who have booked the same activity. This is a common arrangement and allows everyone to take part without needing to organise a group in advance.
It’s recommended to book in advance so the instructors can coordinate pairings in time for the session. If no other bookings are available for that slot, the team will offer to reschedule your session or provide options to join on a different date.
