Start the day with an introduction to your powerboat, covering basic controls, safety procedures, and key equipment. Exercises begin in calm, sheltered waters to help you gain confidence while handling the boat at low speeds.
Practical sessions focus on turning, stopping, and docking. You will also practise launching and recovering the boat from a slipway or pontoon and learn how to correctly use life jackets and other safety equipment.
The afternoon includes navigation exercises and applying collision regulations to real-life situations on the water. Instructors provide guidance throughout, ensuring each skill is understood and practised until you feel confident and ready to handle a small powerboat independently.
