Want to try climbing? Our taster sessions are ideal for beginners or those returning to climbing after some time. Held daily in North Devon, these sessions offer a safe and fun environment to learn the basics under the guidance of experienced instructors.
In this hour-long session, you'll be introduced to top-rope climbing. The session begins with a briefing on safety and climbing techniques, where our qualified instructors will explain how to use the equipment and the basic principles of climbing.
Once you’re comfortable, you’ll get the chance to climb various routes on our indoor walls. Throughout the session, your instructor will manage the ropes and provide tips to help you improve. By the end, you'll have gained a sense of accomplishment and a good understanding of climbing basics.
Our sessions are hosted at our modern facility in North Devon, featuring the region’s largest and most dynamic bouldering cave.
The centre offers a range of climbing walls designed for different skill levels, ensuring everyone from first-timers to more experienced climbers can enjoy a rewarding experience.
Participants must be at least 6 years old to join. No previous climbing experience is required. Please wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes. Bring any personal medication you may need.
Since our founding in 2007 by Keith, our centre has grown to become a leading provider of outdoor activities in North Devon. We offer a variety of experiences, from climbing sessions to school residential trips and overseas expeditions.
In 2019, we unveiled our impressive bouldering cave, now a key attraction in the area. Our team is dedicated to creating a welcoming and safe environment, ensuring every participant leaves with lasting memories and new skills.
For our climbing or bouldering taster sessions in Devon, we recommend wearing comfortable clothing that allows for easy movement.

Absolutely! Each taster session is tailored to the participant's ability, so whether it’s your first time, a refresher, or a more in-depth lesson, we can adjust the session to suit your needs.
With our new bouldering centre now open, there are even more challenges to explore.
If your children enjoyed their taster session and want to continue, they can join our kids' climbing clubs.

After completing the induction, you can enrol in a four-week improver course, designed to fit your schedule and help you advance your climbing skills. Take a look at our other sessions below for more information.
Yes, climbing shoes are required for the bouldering centre. If you don’t have your own, we can provide them for you as part of your session.
