Escape the busy beaches and spend time sailing along the coast of southern Mallorca aboard a private Bavaria yacht with your own local skipper. Ideal for couples, families, or small groups, these flexible charters combine coastal sailing, swimming stops, and quiet anchor points around the Bay of Palma.
Meeting takes place at Club San Antonio de la Playa in Can Pastilla before boarding the yacht and heading out into Palma Bay. Once away from the marina, the atmosphere changes quickly as the coastline opens into clear swimming areas, rocky coves, and calmer sections of water away from the larger excursion boats. Depending on weather conditions and your chosen charter length, the skipper may sail towards Cala Blava, Illetes, Cala Bella, Cova Verda, or smaller hidden anchor points known mainly to local sailors.
Time on board is completely private for your group, allowing the day to move at your own pace. Some guests prefer a slower sailing experience with drinks and coastal views, while others choose to stop regularly for swimming and snorkelling. The longer 4-hour option gives enough time to visit several different locations and spend more time anchored in quieter bays.
Throughout the trip, the skipper adjusts the route according to the sea conditions and wind direction to create the best possible experience on the water. The Bavaria yacht offers comfortable seating and open deck space, making it easy to relax between sailing sections and swimming stops while enjoying views across Palma Bay.
Departures take place from Can Pastilla on the southern coast of Mallorca, close to Playa de Palma and only a short distance from Palma Airport. The marina location provides quick access to the Bay of Palma without lengthy travel times, making it ideal for visitors staying along the south coast of the island.
The surrounding coastline combines resort areas with quieter sections of sea only accessible by boat. Once away from the shoreline, the route passes low cliffs, marine reserve areas, and small coves with clear water that are popular for swimming and snorkelling during the warmer months.
No previous sailing experience is required for this private charter. The trip is suitable for relaxed family outings, couples, or groups wanting a quieter experience on the water.
Guests should feel comfortable spending time aboard a sailing yacht and entering the sea during swimming stops if they wish to take part.
Smaller private charters create a more personal atmosphere than large catamaran tours operating around Palma Bay. With fewer guests on board, the experience stays flexible and relaxed throughout the trip.
Years of local sailing experience allow the skipper to choose the best anchor points and coastal routes each day based on the weather conditions. The focus remains on quality sailing, quieter swimming locations, and comfortable time on the water.
Yes, the yacht is reserved exclusively for your group for the full duration of the charter. You will not share the boat with other guests, which allows the trip to feel much more relaxed and personal compared to larger organised excursions.
Because the experience is private, the skipper can also adapt the pace of the trip around your group. Some guests prefer longer swimming stops, while others enjoy more sailing time along the coast.
Routes vary depending on weather and sea conditions on the day, but common sailing areas include Cala Blava, Illetes, Cala Bella, Cova Verda, and quieter sections of coastline within Palma Bay. The skipper selects locations with the best conditions for swimming and comfortable sailing.
Local knowledge plays a big part in the experience, especially when choosing smaller coves and less crowded anchor points that larger boats often avoid due to their size.
Swimming stops are included during the charter whenever sea conditions are suitable. The yacht anchors in calm areas with clear water, giving guests time to swim directly from the boat.
Many guests also bring snorkelling masks to explore around the rocks and shallow areas near the coves. The water around Palma Bay is often very clear during the warmer months.
Comfortable clothing, swimwear, towels, sunglasses, and sun protection are strongly recommended. Soft bags are usually easier to store on board than hard suitcases or large luggage.
Guests are also welcome to bring snacks or drinks to enjoy during the charter. Lightweight layers can be useful outside the summer months when conditions feel cooler while sailing.
Families with children regularly join these sailing trips, particularly the shorter 2 or 3-hour options. The calm bays used for swimming are often suitable for younger guests when conditions are good.
Parents should still supervise children closely throughout the trip, especially while moving around the yacht or entering the water during swimming stops.
Safety always comes first, so routes may change depending on wind and sea conditions. The skipper monitors the forecast closely and adjusts the plan to ensure comfortable sailing and safe swimming locations.
If conditions are unsuitable for sailing, alternative arrangements or rescheduling options are usually discussed directly before departure.
